For a long time we’ve been dreaming of living a self-sustaining life together with others. We’ve visited existing communities, attended courses and spent countless hours talking about what the ideal way of living would look like.
Finally the chance to create our own community appeared when Linda’s parents started talking about buying land in the Canary Islands off the coast of Marocco. We first came to the island of Tenerife in November 2017 and visited many farms and all fell in love with this one place situated in the valley of La Orotava. With its huge avocado trees, many orange trees and other fruit trees along with amazing views, both towards the sea, the surrounding mountains and the top of the volcano Teide.
The geographical location is ideal too with temperatures ranging from around 15 °C during the winter season and around 25 °C in the summers, allowing for growing our own food all year around. The northern part of the island where the farm is located is also blessed with fairly consistent rainfall making it suitable for growing a wide variety of plants.
