We are a Self-Reliant Vegan Homestead and We are “Preppers”. We see the fragility of our worlds supply chain and we understand that for many reasons the supply chain can go away at any time making it very complicated for all of us to purchase products anymore. As farmers, we also observe first hand many climate change issues. These issues can lead to mass food shortages and other catastrophic disturbance. Our homestead is actively taking steps everyday to prepare for these scenarios. We have a spring fed river on our property that flows year round and we also have a preferred climate to grow food all year. We dont need to spend unnecessary time to preserve foods or build fires to heat our homes. We have established an easier life for all who live in community with us. Our largest goal is to share abundance with every being on this planet so that we can all experience harmony together. Our lifestyle has an emphasis on simplicity and off-grid living but we also have grid electricity & fiber optic internet. Often we invite guests to visit our homestead for day trips, extended visits, and for long term residence. This land is home to approximately 2 acres of Fruit Producing Plants, Various Herbs, Vegetable Plants, & Flowers. There are many nearby hiking trails & Nature Parks. Our night skys are Great for star gazing! To generate money for our community we have a traveling store that sells flowers, rare seeds, fruits, and various seasonal products. In the future we want to open physical stores (Community Centers). Our main goal is to have our spaces be safe places for all humans and to have the spaces be centers for human enrichment. We are also equipped and able to offer edible landscaping services to install gardens at other people’s properties. We live by “the five agreements” and expect all guests to do the same. These agreements are very important to us. If you do not understand our agreements then please ask questions so you can fully understand our expectations. The agreements are: 1) Speak impeccably 2) Do your best 3) Take nothing personally 4) Make no assumptions 5) Listen and be skeptical. We currently have bedrooms available in the Adobe House. We also have tents to share with bedding materials. Cell phone service is good enough for most tasks. All community guests are expected to work 20 hours each week to compensate for housing expenses and meals. The most common tasks are harvesting, processing, packaging, and planting. We do also have various farm related tasks that change depending on the time of year. This is the 6th homestead we have built together since September 2020. We are intelligent humans and effective creators. This is a great opportunity for Inquisitive people to have an opportunity to learn many skills. All guests of more than one week will have a 7 day probationary phase. If you are not compatible with our expectations after the 1st week you will be given constructive criticism or asked to leave as we have recently been advised by the WWOOF terms of service.
