What we do

ZEGG
ZEGG intentional community hosts about 100 people. We focus on the ecological and social aspects of living together in a future-orientated way. Sustainable development is only possible if it touches and embraces a variety of life areas. ZEGG especially promotes personal development and cultivates a way of heart- and mindful communication. As a community we stand for following our own truth in love, relationships and sexuality. ZEGG changed in its 30 years of existence and has been on the move from a rather homogenous pioneer community to the pluralistic and manifold resident group of today.
Learning from community
ZEGG-Community passes the knowledge and experience gained on to its guests and visitors. We have been doing this successfully for years in trainings, seminars and festivals. The combination of community life and educational center creates an inspiring combination of life and learning.
The seminar business is the economic base of the community. All profits flow into development of the site and the buildings. Furthermore we are supported by a large network of friends and benefactors. All donations are welcome to help keeping our experiment alive.
Many ZEGG-residents work in the training center. The community contributes to the festivals through volunteer work. The organization and decision-making of ZEGG GmbH is inspired by a sociocratic model.
Sustainable life
Environmental issues have moved ZEGG since its beginnings. In recent years, we have implemented a regional and CO²-neutral energy supply. We extract our own drinking water and clean our wastewater in an plant-based sewage system. In our large ZEGG garden fruits and vegetables are grown organically. The kitchen offers vegetarian and vegan food for guests and residents. Inspired by permacultural ideas we have created a manifold flora and fauna and edible landscape on the grounds. We produce Terra Preta from compost, urine and charcoal to build a better soil on our premises.

Social Media Intern for GEN International Hours: Up to 20/month, flexible around your schedule and availability Location: Remote, work with Eva Goldfarb Focus: Instagram + LinkedIn (TikTok if you’re into it!) Hi! I’m Eva, and I run social media for GEN International — the global network connecting ecovillages, intentional communities, and regenerative culture-builders across every continent. I’m looking for a co-conspirator to help me tell the stories of the people quietly building the future: off-grid villages in the Philippines, permaculture farms in Senegal, urban cohousing projects in Berlin, elders passing down land wisdom in the Andes. It’s a wildly rich, wildly underrepresented world, and I want more people to fall in love with it the way I have. What you’ll actually do: Dream up and create content for Instagram and LinkedIn (reels, carousels, stories, captions that don’t sound like a corporate newsletter) Dig into our global network and turn your findings into stories people want to share Pitch your own ideas. If there’s a series, a theme, a format, or a corner of the network that lights you up, that’s what I want you to focus on. What we’re looking for: A natural storyteller, someone who can spot the human thread in a project update or a photo from a faraway village Genuinely curious about ecovillages, sustainability, intentional community, regenerative living Self-motivated and communicative; this is a flexible, trust-based role Why this role: This isn’t a “post 3x a week and don’t ask questions” internship. You’ll have real creative freedom to work on what excites you, learn how a global grassroots network tells its story, and build a portfolio full of meaningful, purpose-driven content. Plus you’ll be talking to people living some of the most interesting, intentional lives on the planet. If storytelling for a better world sounds like your kind of fun, let’s talk.

Earth Activism - Workshop with Starh

In these troubling times, when our global leaders are failing to grapple with the immense threats to our climate, our environment, and our well-being, how do we find our personal power and confidence to step up into new realms and play on a larger stage? We can draw nourishment from nature and community. In this workshop, we’ll use ritual, meditation, guided journeys, dance and song to connect with the deep wellsprings of inspiration that the earth offers us. We will explore the internal and social barriers that keep us from stepping into our full power. And we’ll work with tools and insights that can help us become more effective co-creators of the new world we must bring to birth. This retreat will provide the opportunity to re-root your spirit, politics, and day-to-day life in a deeper relationship with the Earth. Starhawk tailors her workshop to her audience as much as she can and some of the work she does is dependent on who is present and what the questions are that come up in the work. About Starhawk (www.starhawk.org): Starhawk is an author, activist, permaculture designer and teacher, and one of the most respected voices in modern Goddess religion and earth-based spirituality. She is the author or coauthor of twelve books, including the classics The Spiral Dance and The Fifth Sacred Thing. Her latest are The Empowerment Manual: A Guide for Collaborative Groups, and City of Refuge. Seminarplace (www.schloss-tempelhof.de): The community Schloss Tempelhof was founded in 2010 and currently consists of 120 people. On the 31 hectares of the community are communal apartments, industrial premises, a solidary agriculture, a free school and numerous other creative projects. Schloss Tempelhof is an inspiring venue as a pilot project for a sustainable lifestyle. Schloss Tempelhof is located between Heilbronn and Nuremberg. Start – Friday, 5th of August 2016 at 4 pm, arrival possible from 2 pm Optional tour of Schloss Tempelhof: 3 to 4 pm End – Sunday,
