What we do

QEV is founded in 2014, located in southwest of Qiandao Lake, in a valley near a small town. This eco-village is a charity organization supported by local government. QEV was proposed by professor Guo, who after seeing the big problems of modern world, invited inspiring people to build this eco-village, explore a sustainable way, and practice “one village, one heaven” an idea from the ancient wisdom book Tao Te Ching. All villagers are volunteers from all over the country, that have the same vision: to learn from and follow the nature and to live a life that combines reading and farming.
All villagers (around 20) keep learning Tao, that we consider the supreme wisdom to purify our mind and elevate our spirit. We spend half time learning and half time farming. We study the basic texts “The wisdom and application of Tao Te Ting” and “Clever explanation of Tao de Ting” (both written by professor Guo). We learn the relationship with nature and the deep truth of life, that the earth is an organic body, is alive, is our common mother. The core principles of our village are: Love the nature and all living beings, live in harmony with the nature, live a grateful and content life that is inspiring our deep inner heart.
In our eco-village we use Natural Farming, that is farming with our heart, without harm for the environment, with no pesticides, nor chemical fertilizers. Every villager has his own field to practice, we follow the nature and learn from nature, and also learn advanced eco-agriculture from all over the world. Here everybody can be a master.
QEV is a big family, we are all sisters and brothers and we share equally all the resources. The materials are distributed following everybody’s needs, and most work is distributed by each one’s will, and also we take turns. For our daily needs, we are nearly self-sufficient, as we drink fresh spring water and we eat mostly our own healthy self-grown food. We respect everyone’s talent. We also make a lot of homemade products, like soap and washing material and we’re trying our best to live a life without pollution. We also have a happy leisure life, with singing, dancing, calligraphy and more.
We also hold Natural Farming classes every year, which combine Tao Philosophy, natural farming and Tao life style. We invite people interested to join us.
Let’s build a good society with our hands, be responsible ancestors, leave a green, healthy earth to our children and construct a happy and harmonious home with people from all over the world.
QEV like to share all our experiences and talents, and welcome people from all over the world.
