What we do

Community
We are growing an eco-village that is transparently co-directed by its members, and accessible to all who share our vision. There are options for volunteering, joining the community as a member, and even buying land if you want the legal assurance of your name on a title.
Membership
Interested members should expect to live with us for 6 months to see if they are a good fit and share the community’s values of raw foods, commitment to health and positive lifestyle, non-violence and compassion in actions and speech, and decentralized organizational structures. After this trial period, the rest of the community may extend an invitation for membership in the community. All members must start as “volunteers.” For more info, check out our volunteer page. At any point in this process, one can be approved to buy or share a land and become a landowner. More info on our group land buy page. We encourage all potential community members to consider buying land, as it provides more benefits and “cements” one’s involvement in the project.
We use principles from consensus decision-making and sociocracy, to organize a community group that is relatively free from hierarchy and involuntary centralization. We hold community meetings once per week. We schedule regular group activities to keep people involved and learning.
We aim to be a sanctuary where people feel safe raising children in a community of like-minded people. Currently, our community house is not big enough to accommodate families for a long period of time. Until we get more community structures built, we encourage families to consider staying for shorter periods of time, or buying into the land title so that they can build their own structures/homestead areas.

La Dimensión Social del Diseño Regenerativo

Are you looking to consciously re-invent cooperative and harmonious ways of living and working together? If so, how do we design solutions for group development, leadership, conflict resolution, decision-making, creativity, social justice and communication? Join Gaia Education’s Social Design for Sustainability course and learn practical effective ways to create the change we all seek. Our distinct programme is your chance to learn about the different ways to participate in this (r)evolutionary shift in paradigms. Our aim is to give you a better understanding of the true meaning of social equity and participatory action, and to enable participants to apply transformative tools that align us with more resilient social systems. Our relationship with others is too dear to let it default to old domineering paradigms. Many of us feel that our current social system is no longer sustainable and that more compassionate and just ways of organising are possible, but what are the alternatives? It is a commonly held belief that there are things individuals can do to change the system or improve their social condition but within the context of a complex global community, the effectiveness of isolated individual action is limited. We all co-create the system in which we live so once we join with others and work for a shared vision to improve the situation in our communities we participate in a powerful force for positive change If you have been part of a group, you already know that one of the most common reasons for failure of group projects is conflict. Conflict is a structural issue in the formation of groups so propagating successful group projects will necessarily entail a healing process in which we step out of the cycles of pain and violence that have run through human history and take responsibility for initiating new patterns. GIFTS from the HEART

This is a FUNd-raising year-end PARTY with music, poetry, songs, games and creative sharings brought together as a GIFT from our HEARTS, simply RSVP via this form to join in :) Our primary priority is to gather and have a nourishing time, and so your gift of presence and good vibes is most appreciated. During the gathering, there will be opportunities to donate to the development cost of, and offer of scholarships, for the REGEN-Nations programme. As 2021 is coming to a close, here’s an invitation to join us in celebrating life-giving intentions. In these times of complexities and volatility, the need for community is more than ever before. As we face the increasing strain of climate crisis, a global pandemic and many other challenges, the REGEN-Nations team at GENOA is driven by a strong sense of purpose, and lots of love and joy, to bring the second edition of this whole systems regenerative design programme to our region. With practitioners from Asia and Oceania to share their insights from lived experiences in our region, REGEN-Nations offers skills in empathic and agile leadership, enables an ecosystem of peer-to-peer learning, and collaboration for better impact. Before we launch the course in February 2022, please join us for a celebratory time to amplify our energies for a regenerative world in the making. Come meet the folks in our regional regenerative network and basks in the songs and poetry of hidden talents from Asia and Oceania! There will also be an open mic segment so if you’d like to share a song or poem, you’re most welcome to! :)
