What we do

El Centro Acahual se ocupa de regeneración económico-social y medioambiental de los ecosistemas naturales o antrópicos, rurales y urbanos, a través de la impartición de servicios de enseñanza, formación, capacitación, asesoría, facilitación, así como la redacción de proyectos y programas en materia de ecología aplicada, permacultura y otras disciplinas regenerativas. Todo tipo de acción que contribuya en la creación de una sociedad multicultural en equilibrio con el medio, justa, equitativa y económicamente prospera.
OBJETIVOS:

Ofrecer servicios de ecología aplicada para la regeneración de los ecosistemas naturales y antrópicos.
Ofrecer servicios de ecología aplicada para los sistemas urbanos interactuando con las comunidades a través del uso de herramientas de participación y de facilitación.
Favorecer el uso y la difusión de ecotecnias.
Ofrecer servicios y crear materiales didácticos de acompañamiento a la transición ecológica de las comunidades donde operamos. Motivar el intercambio cultural a través de cursos de lenguas y culturas nacionales y extranjeras a fin de fomentar el multiculturalismo.
Promover el bienestar holístico mediante la práctica de disciplinas como la meditación, Yoga, Reiki, Chi Kung etc, y la medicina alternativa y natural, los cursos de alimentación saludable, de comida fermentada y las enseñanzas de las grandes culturas gastronómicas del planeta.
Desarrollar proyectos comunitarios de economía local en armonía con el medioambiente.
Aplicar en nuestros proyectos de manera preferencial la sociocracia, la facilitación y el proyecto participativo.

Sandhill Farm Missouri seeking 2020 Interns (and Members!)

Sandhill Farm is an intentional community established in 1974 in the rural farmland of northeast Missouri. We are currently 5 adults and 2 children stewarding 160 acres of fields, forest, gardens, orchards, houses, barns, livestock, and more. We live an agrarian, homestead lifestyle with partial autonomy among members. We are neighbors and friends to 2 additional communities: Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage & Red Earth Farms. We are seeking seasonal interns for the 2020 growing season. Internship includes part-time childcare. People with childcare experience and who enjoy spending time with little ones are encouraged to apply! Der in Medewege lebende Fledermausexperte Jan Enderle vom NABU lädt zu einem Fledermauswochenende ein. Nach theoretischer Einführung in die Welt der Fledermäuse geht es am Spätabend mit dem Detektor auf Fledermausjagd und am nächsten Tag werden Fledermausbehausungen gebaut. Leitung: Jan Enderle (Hof Medewege / NABU Schwerin) Referenten: Ralf Koch (Naturpark Nossentiner / Schwinzer Heide) weitere Referenten sind in Vorbereitung Ablauf Freitag: 18:30 – 22:00 Uhr: Fledermausvorträge und Exkursion Samstag: 10:00 – 13:00 Uhr: Bau von Fledermauskästen & Beispiele zur fachgerechten Anbringung Anmeldung bis: 15. Autumn PDC 2017 Greece, Tinos Island

Autumn 2017 Permaculture Design Course 23 September – 5 October (12 days, 80 hours certificate) Led by Andrew Jordan and Elena Symeonidou We are excited to announce the second FULL PERMACULTURE DESIGN COURSE (PDC) that will be hosted in Tinos Eco-lodge with two knowledgeable teachers Andrew Jordan from Ireland and Elena Symeonidou from Greece. The Permaculture Design Certificate The Permaculture Design Certificate is an 80 hour theoretical course based on Bill Mollison’s Designers Manual, teaching how we can use today’s tools and technology to create a more sustainable world. Permaculture is not only about growing vegetables and animals, it is a whole sustainable lifestyle. Permaculture ethics are Earth Care, People Care and Return of Surplus and this is taught by showing students to focus on local resources and their local community, and to have well thought out design practices to create abundance sustainably. Andrew and Elena aim at inspiring students with their own very real examples of transforming their lives with permaculture in a contemporary context. Having worked in a broad spectrum of climate and social conditions, they will share with their students the thrills but also the challenges they faced. Oftentimes permaculture is being presented as a panacea for world problems and the road to resilience and abundance is depicted as straightforward and easy. Andrew and Elena will challenge this notion and try to prepare their students in a realistic manner for their own fascinating journey towards change. Nikos will share his hands-on experience of building the ecolodge and designing the energy, water, plant and waste systems. We will have the rare opportunity to discuss and elaborate on Nikos’ and Marilia’s choices on different aspects of their project, reflect on the challenges, opportunities and limitations.
