In the village center of Borlo (Gingelom) we are developing a social, ecological and future-oriented project: Het Abtshof. We are converting a historic square farm into an intergenerational cohousing with 12 residential units and various common areas such as a large kitchen and hall, workshops, guest rooms, laundry room,… and plenty of play space for children to grow up. We have the ambition to live, work, share, grow and inspire each other together.
The Abtshof is a housing cooperative and includes, in addition to the buildings, a piece of land of 2 ha with a garden, meadow and agricultural land with a new orchard, 2 greenhouses and vegetable cultivation.
The cooperative owns the whole, the residents are shareholders. This structure allows to create living spaces that are adaptable to any family situation. It is a project in full growth: new input is welcome, co-creation is possible and there is potential to develop activities that fit within the vision. We are thinking of a permaculture agricultural project, farm shop, bakery, woodworking studio, yoga studio, creative studio, beekeeping,…
We always provide an introduction period for people who want to come and live here. You can also volunteer to participate via WWOOF. Definitely welcome! Mail us: info@abtshof.be
