What we do

Hello my eco-friendly guys and gals!
My name is Ivy Beck, and I have been interested in building my own eco-village/intentional community for a long time, and now I am finally ready to do it! Recently I moved to Arizona, and it hasn’t been the best for me. I have experienced many hardships while living here, and it is time for me to move on. Whilst living here I met many new friends, but unfortunately not many with the same mindset as me when it comes to sustainability.
Eventually, I met my best friend Tako. We came up with this grand idea of moving to Montana, buying a large pice of land, and creating our very own homestead. Then I thought “Why not build a whole community?”. I know how hard it can be to find communities that share the same values as you, or even finding one near you, or the area you want to be in.
Now, we are building this community and we need your help! I have many skills when it comes to homesteading, cooking, building, woodworking, first aid, CPR, gardening, etc. We need your skills too! Being part of our community, everyone needs to contribute, it doesn’t have to be in a monetary way, you can contribute your skills. We will be starting from scratch, so if you want to be part of our amazing adventure, let us know!
Adventure awaits!
P.s. If you don’t want to be part of the community, but would like to donate to help us on our adventure, I will be adding a Go Fund Me link.

Much love,
Ivy Beck

How to join

We are starting our community from square one. If you would like to join our community, you will have to build your own residence. We will also be building our own from scratch. We have many skills on our own, but we do not know everything unfortunately, so we will be needing your skills as well! No money is needed to join, but you hands, and your skills are. We will be growing our own food and medicine, but it is going to take a while to get to that point, because as I said before, we are starting from nothing. We have a simple set of rules: Be kind, and be respectful to everyone, and their property, and contribute. Friendly animals are allowed, as long as they do not destroy crops, or kill any farm animals. Hard drugs are also not allowed in our community, but alcohol is welcome. We will be building our very own winery where we will be making all natural mead (honey wine). For any other questions and concerns, please send me an email: Wo***********************@***il.com
We are so excited to have you!

From The Ground Up: Ecovillage Design Education

From The Ground Up is a 7-day residential Mini Ecovillage Design Education (EDE) at Entelechy, a 13.5-acre intentional community on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, Canada. August 9–15, 2026. The course follows the Gaia Education EDE framework, covering four dimensions of sustainability: Ecological – Food systems, natural building, energy and water, appropriate technology. Social – Community governance, communication, conflict resolution, collective decision-making. Economic – Alternative economics, cooperative structures, local currencies, social enterprise. Worldview – The values, beliefs, and cultural frameworks that underlie sustainable community – why people want to live this way, and what has to shift for it to last. The course is facilitated by a graduate of both the full EDE and the Gaia Education Training of Trainers programme. It takes place at a working ecovillage where residents live what they teach. Participants stay on-site for the week in wall tents or camping. Communal meals sourced from local Salt Spring farms and Entelechy’s gardens are included. This course is for anyone interested in designing, joining, or strengthening sustainable communities — whether you’re starting from scratch, already involved in a project, or looking to go deeper than a Permaculture Design Course.
