Nestled in a serene eco-village surrounded by lush forests, our Forest Retreat House offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature, embrace holistic healing, and experience rural Nepali life. At the heart of our initiative is the concept of Mind, Movement, and Mountain (3M), a holistic approach that intertwines mental well-being, physical activity, and the majestic beauty of the Himalayas.
About Us:
I am a graduate of Schumacher College, UK, with a Master’s in Mind, Movement, and Ecology, and I hold a second Master’s in Applied Ecology from Evenstad, Norway. My passions include big cats, holistic healing, and regenerative tourism. While I will be available on weekends and holidays, my brother Bipin, sister Binita, and mother Narayani will be your guides, offering insights into Nepali cuisine and traditions. You’ll also meet our playful four-year-old, Binayak, who loves catching dragonflies and grasshoppers!
Your Experience:
While our holistic Ayurvedic healing center is still in development, we invite volunteers to engage in house-sitting, forest-farm management, and fish keeping. This is a chance to co-create a unique experience, blending relaxation with light farm work. Expect a rustic and self-reflective environment, perfect for digital detox and immersing yourself in the tranquil rhythms of rural life.
What We Offer:
Accommodation: Stay in our eco-friendly home with a well-equipped kitchen (no refrigerator), surrounded by vegetable gardens where we grow cabbage, cauliflower, and spinach.
Activities: Engage in farm tasks, explore the forest and rivers, and participate in local ceremonies and cuisine. Experience the soothing sounds of nature and the earthy scent of the village.
Community: Become part of a welcoming eco-village familiar with volunteers, offering a supportive environment for cultural exchange and personal growth.
Three Focus Areas of tasks to create database for healing forest are:
1.Morning Bird Survey: Join us in the early hours for a peaceful bird survey from 8 am to 11 am, allowing you to connect with nature and contribute to our conservation efforts.
2. Evening Forest Bath and Harvest: Spend your evenings immersed in the tranquility of the forest, engaging in rejuvenating activities such as forest bathing and wild harvesting. Help us gather forest leaf litter manure for our holistic Ayurvedic garden from 4 pm to 6 pm.
3. Digital Collaboration: Depending on your skills and availability, collaborate with us on digital tasks such as content creation, fundraising initiatives, ecstatic dance sessions, video curation, and storytelling to enrich our cultural immersion experiences.
