Intentional Communities Movement has a New Brand!

The Fellowship for Intentional Community is now the Foundation for Intentional Community. “FIC” shorthand remains. FIC is part of GEN North America (GENNA) Alliance, which is a collaborative platform serving the regenerative communities network within North America.

New name, new brand, new look, new everything!

For over 30 years, the FIC has served as a platform for intentional communities to connect with each other and as a hub for people to discover community for the first time. The brand change is a landmark moment for the intentional communities movement.

The new interface at ic.org facilitates better access to the 1,052 communities listed in the FIC Directory. It is the leading resource for people starting and finding intentional communities.

“Intentional communities are about creating attachment, the feeling that someone has your back,” says Harvard University psychiatrist Robert Waldinger, director of the Harvard Study of Adult Development, a decades-old survey of the health of a population of Harvard graduates and their descendants. “We often ask people in studies, ‘Who would you call in the middle of the night if you were really sick or scared?’ Intentional communities can help you have an answer to that question.”

“The brand changes build on our rich 30-year history as a foundation of inspiration and resources for intentional communities,” says Cynthia Tina, FIC Communications Director, “100,000 people in the US are estimated to live in communities designed for social enrichment, environmental responsibility, and economic equity. We support these solutions and amplify their stories because we believe in the power of community to create a better world.”

There are many inspiring resources for anyone curious to explore, interested to join, or ready to start an ecovillage / intentional community. Experiment and find yours! Access: ic.org
