Youth in Action – Sprouts for the Future local project implementation has launched and little hands are busy digging in the soil, creating compost stations, and preparing cob. Along with the representatives in the Community of Practice, each local project benefits from the support of a mentor to help navigate them through the participatory process, bringing expertise and support. We previously shared about 2 mentors and are excited to share 3 more!
Suai Long Eco School in Thailand welcomes Thana Uthaipattrakoon an architect with great experience in natural building design, building, and community engagement. He wrote the first earthen building book in Thailand that has been reprinted 12 times. He currently teaches natural building at an alternative university.
The Self Directed Learning Center at Kuthumba Ecovillage in South Africa will weave in the guidance of Daniel Erasmus, a fellow community member who has been working with natural building for almost 20 years. His past projects have utilised salvaged materials, earthbags, clay, cob, and wood.
School Garden in Montenegro, welcomes energy and ideas infused by entrepreneur, farmer, and social engineer Mansur Yumagulov. As a creator of a network of children’s camps in the wider region, he also brings innovation and a focus on local economy and self-governance.
