The Vía Orgánica Ecological Ranch was established in 2012 and it is an educational model in organic and regenerative agriculture and sustainable living. The ranch is a training and networking center for farmers, families, and activists.
The Via Organica Ecological Ranch and Conference Center is located in the Jalpa Valley of Central Mexico, just 15 minutes outside of the beautiful World Heritage City, San Miguel de Allende. The Ecological Ranch serves as an educational farm and training center for farmers, students and activists in the organic food movement. The ranch includes a natural retreat center with adobe buildings, walking trails, solar power, rainwater catchment, and greywater and composting systems.
The Via Organica Ranch is a working model of how to transform once degenerated farmland and pastureland. The working ranch in the semi-arid highlands of Mexico now produces delicious organic vegetables, herbs, fruits, seeds, and animal products for the Via Organica restaurant, farmers market, and food store located at the ranch. Visitors can also attend workshops and visit the agroecological park.
Via Organica is the main hub for the Billion Agave Project (BAP), a game-changing ecosystem-regeneration strategy recently adopted by several innovative Mexican farms in the high-desert region of Guanajuato: https://regenerationinternational.org/billion-agave-project
