Single-use cups are a major environmental issue. Even most so-called compostable cups end up in landfill. The aim of The Cup Project is to eliminate the use of disposable cups. The goal is to invite customers to reflect on the environmental impact of single-use and consider recyclable alternatives. The approach is an 8-week feasibility study, offering alternatives to single-use cups, “Koha Jars”, which we will provide to participating cafes in Grey Lynn for free. Prior to launching the project at the Grey Lynn cafes, there will be one month of collecting jars and making heat​bands for them. This will be facilitated by participating schools and community groups. Ongoing working groups will be set up for the entirety of the feasibility study.

Introduction The Next Generation of the Global Ecovillage Network of Oceania and Asia (NextGENOA) is a growing network of young people of the Ecovillage and Sustainability movement within the Oceania and Asia region. These groups of young people have been active in their local areas, among their friends, family and other young people, to raise awareness about environmental issues & to come up with eco-solutions. These young people aim to inspire others to become part of growing tribe of people who are committed and actively engaged in the healing process of the earth and creating a sustainable future. In November, 2014, NextGENOA had its first regional gathering in India where representatives from the different countries of the Oceania & Asia region were present. During these 5 days gathering NextGENOA looked into how to create a stronger NextGENOA network and empower the sustainability movement of young people in Asia & Oceania. At this gathering NextGENOA representatives met and shared their experiences and visions of their countries. From there, it became clear that to strengthen the network further NextGENOA needs to have a more intensive gathering combined with an intensive educational program that will deeply bond the NextGENOA youth together and where the youth will experience living their shared values together in a community setting. The Ecovillage Design Education (EDE – Gaia Education) is an educational program that has proven to be very effective in providing the knowledge and pathways of a holistic way of living towards a sustainable future. Ecovillage Design Education (EDE) programs create transformation in people at all levels & these EDE’s have been successfully held throughout the world. NextGENOA EDE The NextGENOA EDE will be an holistic educational program that will bring NextGENOA young leaders from the Oceania and Asia region together at one place to meet and share with each other at the mental, heart, practical and spirit level.

La RIE (Red Ibérica de Ecoaldeas) y Arterra Bizimodu invitan a todas aquellas personas interesadas en conocer, compartir, indagar sobre los modelos que promueven las ecoaldeas al XVIIIº Encuentro RIE de Verano 2015 desde el jueves 27 al domingo 30 de Agosto. Como cada año, serán cuatro intensas jornadas con más de 50 talleres, charlas, conferencias y eventos –además de momentos para los encuentros, el juego, la celebración y mercadillos – junto a las gentes de diferentes proyectos RIE y los habitantes de Arterra Bizimodu . Actividades para txikis entre 3 y 10 años, “Tejiendo redes” con la presencia de otras redes : transición, Permacultura, Red de Luz, etc.. Mercado el Domingo en la Plaza del pueblo… Arterra Bizimodu es un nuevo proyecto Ecoaldeano, en este caso co-habitando ( co-housing) un antiguo apart/hotel balneario con más de 7000m2 construidos y 3 hectáreas de campos en Artieda Navarra, Evidentemente contamos con espacios y habitaciones para desarrollar con comodidad el evento. En Arterra somos una cincuentena de personas grandes y pequeñas, y llevamos año y medio de experimento en formas innovadoras de gestión en lo social : Sociocracia, Tratando de desarrollar una economía con otros parámetros y monedas: los “Terrones” , buscando como partiendo de lo no-sostenible tomar la ruta hacia lo sostenible ( Ecología) Creando una visión común capaz de generar la transformación necesaria para ese mundo posible.
