Brithdir Mawr is a farm of 165 acres in Pembrokeshire, West Wales, UK, that houses an intentional community of 20 people working towards sustainability, simplicity and spirit, and wishing to share their aim with others. The adults work for the community for an average of three days per week and pursue private interests or livelihoods the rest of the time. We take care of the land, recycle and conserve resources, garden and farm organically and are off the grid for electricity and water.
We coppice wood for fuel, bake bread, preserve produce, and use our own materials such as wood and willow for craftwork. On the whole, we aim to live as sustainably as possible, as well as fostering community living and placing a strong focus on education. The latter refers to the sharing and exchaning of skills and experience.
The vision of this community is to continue to thrive as a place for future generations to learn about communal living and to nurture interests in sustainability.
