Single-use cups are a major environmental issue. Even most so-called compostable cups end up in landfill. The aim of The Cup Project is to eliminate the use of disposable cups. The goal is to invite customers to reflect on the environmental impact of single-use and consider recyclable alternatives. The approach is an 8-week feasibility study, offering alternatives to single-use cups, “Koha Jars”, which we will provide to participating cafes in Grey Lynn for free. Prior to launching the project at the Grey Lynn cafes, there will be one month of collecting jars and making heat​bands for them. This will be facilitated by participating schools and community groups. Ongoing working groups will be set up for the entirety of the feasibility study.

Conflicts/disagreements exist because of our differences – the differences in our needs, moral values and motivations… Sometimes we connect with each other through these differences, sometimes we come across to each other. There is no problem with the disagreements, in other words “coming across,” the question is what we do with this disagreement. It is important to lead our conflicts, because either we love them or not they require our energy. In fact we spend most of our energy and attention on unsolved conflicts. Probably all of us have experienced how tiring an unsolved conflict is. It is not always easy to solve the problem, but when we do it gives us big energy. It requires an ability to solve conflicts. In this practice we will start on the definition and dynamics of conflicts/disagreements, and helpful attitudes to solve them. Discuss what the role of ecovillages is, can, and should be in transforming our complex contemporary reality. Born in 1954, Sabine Lichtenfels studied Theology in Germany. She is the author of many books, a freelance theologian, peace activist and co-founder of Peace Research Center Tamera, Portugal. Her spectrum of knowledge and activity comprises international peace work, cooperation with the Plan of the Healing Biotopes, community knowledge, spiritual research, a new female consciousness, reconciliation between the genders, and truth in love and eros. With her comprehensive knowledge and her radical commitment she is an ambassador for a global perspective for peace. Sabine regularly visits and supports people and projects in crisis areas, such as Colombia or Israel-Palestine. Since 2005, she has initiated and facilitated various peace pilgrimages in these countries, helping to establish the Global Campus, an international education platform for building autonomous models for the future. “Entrenando el corazón y la mente para cocrear un nuevo futuro” Vivir una vida “despierta” conlleva sabiduría, curación, paz y amor a nuestro alrededor. El objetivo de este taller es proporcionar las herramientas básicas para “despertar” y mantener este nivel de conciencia en el día a día. La vida cotidiana nos refleja la realidad que construimos desde nuestro interior. Todo lo que excluimos o negamos de nosotros mismos emerge a la superficie como síntomas de cualquier tipo como estrés, conflictos interpersonales continuos, falta de vitalidad, reactividad ante las decisiones, relaciones dependientes, sensación de bloqueo, estancamiento o depresión. Por tanto, cualquier oportunidad de la vida cotidiana se convierte en el escenario perfecto para transformar las causas que originan dichos síntomas y practicar el despertar. De este modo, evitaremos ser arrastrados por imágenes como el miedo, la desconfianza, la duda o la traición y fomentaremos un nuevo espacio para liberar nuestro potencial y creatividad relegados en nuestra sombra (la parte excluida de la persona que se tiende a ocultar por considerarla inapropiada). El fundamento de este taller es el trabajo de introspección individual en un escenario grupal, lo cual permite identificar las dinámicas relacionales inconscientes para liberar la carga emocional que contienen. Esto genera nuevas percepciones que contribuyen a reconocer lo que está excluido dentro de nosotros con el fin de integrarlo y recuperar el impulso vital y la capacidad empática. Este proceso se verá favorecido por un alineamiento de mente, impulso y acción.
