About the Communities

What we do

Principles and Values
Collective Decisions, Collective Budget and Collective Food.
In situations that relate to the past, present and future of our
community, and when required or demanded, collective decisions are taken. Our non-profit economy is based on collectivity and accessible any time to the members for any piece of information including our economic mechanism. We usually dine together, which is one of the fields where we share the sense and pleasure of belonging.
Economic Independence
We’re trying to create a self-sufficient economical process using
natural farming, stockbreeding, and bartering whenever possible. For
the rest of our needs, we have adopted a closed and independent economy via which we obtain things from a network of friends living in cities.
Harmony With Nature
In all our activities we adopt the ideal of living a natural and moderate life by minimizing the habits of the consumption society, by choosing natural and local products, by recycling in naturally-friendly ways, and by avoiding industrial products with packaging that contain hazardous chemicals. We determine our needs not according to our habits of consumption but in tandem with our conscious, ecological solutions. We find it important to have harmony with the local and traditional values.
Respect for Others
We truly and wholeheartedly respect other people (their different personalities, ethnic and cultural roots, religions, political views, past experiences and personal issues), their private property, and common property in general and every living being on the face of the world. Regardless of age, every member is supported by the community and provided with the conditions to creatively realize their personal and social potentials.
Gender and Disadvantaged Groups
It is essential to have sensitivity against sexual discrimination, and sensitivity for individuals and groups disadvantaged on psychological, social, and economic grounds. The eco-village settlement see to it that all its members have a life with dignity, equality and honor.
Individuality and Freedom
Eco-village settlers are equally sensitive about individual and community life. The community life supports its members to realize themselves in coherence with their thoughts, behaviours and feelings. The voluntarily formed society, in return, functions by monitoring and protecting the unity and existence of the community itself.
Emotional Maturity and Personal Integrity
In their essence, expressions and behaviours, individuals are expected to be in balance. The decision of being a settler is expected to be taken autonomously and with a sense of individual and social awareness and responsibility.
Direct Communication
The accepted methods of communication are: expressing one’s thoughts and feelings in an open, clear and sincere way; paying attention to others closely and trying to understand them sincerely; avoiding reviling and false language in collective and/or private conversations; and choosing face-to-face direct communication with others.
Responsibility
It is expected of the members to take responsibility of their acts and failures, and to contribute to individual improvement of other members by showing openness for constructive critique and critiquing others in an approppriate and respectful way.
Nonviolence
It is essential to avoid imposition on others in any way, to intervene with oppressive and violent (physical, verbal and psychological) behaviour, and to show acceptance when critiqued in such cases. In case of a conflict, the way to deal with the problem lies in dialogue, agreement, effectiveness and finding a permanent solution.
Solidarity
Living together in an eco-village depends on the voluntary colloboration
and open communication of the participants. For this reason all members are expected to work as much as they can so as to contribute to common needs.
Sharing Information
All knowledge and experience can be shared with other individuals and institutions trying to be the centers of social and educational vision. It is among the objectives of our Eco-village to create fields of life where knowledge and experiences are effectively used to find solutions to all kinds of local, national, and international problems.
Social Responsibilities
Starting from its own grounds and its neighbourhood, the Eco-village tries to participate in attempts aimed at protecting the ecosystem and balance on the whole planet formed by both animate and inanimate things since ancient times, to raise public awareness on the subject, and therefore, to eradicate the threat against the planet.
Loyalty to Agreements
In all the agreements they have signed before beginning to live in the Eco-village, the members are expected to carry out all the obligations included, to undertake all the responsibilities required by the official state laws and regulations, and to suffer the consequences if they cause a public damage or loss (in connection with traffic, finances, environment, etc.) and are to be punished thereupon.
Commitment
Members accept to behave according to these common base values in all
their actions.
