What we do

Eco-Clean Ghana Foundation is a Not for Profit organization that recycles waste into resources and creates entrepreneurial opportunities for the vulnerable in our society. It uses permaculture and ecovillage sustainable modules in turning waste into resources and creating livelihood empowerment opportunities. It empowers women and youth into generating income from plastic waste by turning these waste into school bags, laptop bags, and market bags. It also trains them on producing cleaning detergents (Liquid soap, shower gel, hand sanitizer, and bar soaps) for sale. Mushroom production training is also organized for these targets to produce and sell in the market to improve their livelihood. As part of ECG Foundation financial sustainability initiatives, it ensures there is a sustainable market for its livelihood empowerment activities and contributes to solving social issues like poverty, unemployment, health, and waste management.
ECG Foundation works with farmers, women, youth, and schools in rural communities. Eco-Clean Ghana Foundation is located in the upper west region of Ghana, Wa-Bamahu. ECG Foundation partner with stakeholders and organizations that promote waste education such as Ghana zoomlion company, urban waste, municipal assemblies, Ghana education service, Ghana health services, and other local and international partners in turning the spiral of handling waste by providing necessary resources such as education on waste management to the general public, distribution of dust bins, forming waste management clubs in schools, collecting both plastics and degradable waste for recycling.

After we procure those seeds, we put them on a cycle. We organized “Seed Exchange Days”, where people could meet and exchange their seeds, their knowledge and experiences. We tried to take it one step further and we are trying to categorize the seeds. For example, -there is a bean seed. But which type of bean seed is it? Or we try to categorize the seeds according to their durabilty in which city they could grow. We believe that all the seeds in the World are people’s seeds and we want to share them with everyone.
