What we do

Officially recognized under the name ‘MA FORÊT’ in December 2005, we are an NGO fighting against global deforestation, particularly in the Ivory Coast, Africa. In 2007, the NGO joined the ‘TERRE DES JEUNES’ network comprised of the following countries: Canada, Haiti, France, Togo, Benin, Cameroun, Niger, Burkina Faso, Burundi and Ivory Coast, and adopted the name of the network.
Our mission:

  • To protect human being and its environment against productivity and technology-driven society,
  • To promote the participation of citizens to define and defend their living environment through actions that help to raise awareness, encourage reforestation, and prevent further bushfires
  • To improve a better social organization and modification of individual behaviors in Ivory Coast as well as in Africa and other parts of the world

In 2015, Togo hosted the first summit inviting all the ‘TERRE DES JEUNES’ representatives around the world to improve and discuss our joint future, to coordinate the activities carried out in respective countries. The summit also served as an opportunity to celebrate 30 years of ‘TERRE DES JEUNES TRANSNATIONAL’.
‘Terre des Jeunes’ summit in 2020, an even bigger project awaits both the network’s members and attendees: the construction of an ecovillage. This will aim to demonstrate that it is possible to build, growth and live in a ‘model forest’ that are optimal for the environment.
