Since 2013, excluded young adults have participated in the creation and construction of the first LP4Y eco-village in the Philippines. Beyond the incredible impact they bring to the development of their own country, they became the real actors of their own development : they learned to work as a team, to manage a budget, to hold meetings with professionals such as engineers or suppliers. Above all, they discover that they have the credibility, talents, skills to present to an employer with this rewarding experience that is well worth the diplomas.
2020 marks the end of the construction period, allowing the Green Village center to move to the second phase of the project : to become a Sustainable entrepreneurial hub by implementing the LP4Y Green Village pedagogy 2.0.
This new pedagogy is a 3-month residential training for young excluded women (18-24) coming from all the Laguna Province. The Youth develop and manage micro-businesses 5 days a week and thus develop soft, life and entrepreneurial skills. One day a week is dedicated to personal development. At the end of the training, they have all the capacities and skills to find and keep a decent job.
The Green Village pedagogy 2.0 is also a “train the trainers” center where LP4Y trains teachers and trainers from public/private educational institutions to the LP4Y learning methods based on experiential learning (hands-on), positive approach and development of soft skills.
Here is another pillar of the project: the word “Together”! The Green Village is a hub where any local, national, and international organization of small or large scale, having this desire of mutual enrichment and to become or deepen its role of ambassador and actor of the “sustainable development” of the Philippines can participate and enter this adventure.
Beyond the incredible wealth that it brings, this diversity of actors involved brings long-term sustainability and anchoring of the project as well as a certain autonomy and independence.
