What we do

We co-create a community to unlearn civilization’s toxic ways of living & to learn/try/practice healthy & useful ways of living for the Next Culture/New Earth.
We are a group that consciously chooses to survive the impending economic/ political/ geophysical collapse & build together a cultural “Ark” for those inspired to enter the New Age. We are in service to the future.
As the Earth’s magnetic field weakens, it is predicted that a solar flare or coronal mass ejection (known as the “solar kill shot” & anticipated to occur within the next several years) will bring down the electrical grid worldwide, immediately thrusting us into a world without electricity, internet, banking, supply chains & many of the things we are accustomed to. After that, according to catastrophists & scientists, a solar micro-nova could cause a global Cataclysm (by 2050). We seriously take these predictions into consideration. Archaeology tells us of cyclical disasters & extinction events. There have always been survivors. This time, that can be us.
We see these disasters as an opportunity to revive sustainable lifeways (such as regenerative agriculture, eco-building with local earth materials, permaculture design, tribal-inspired sociocracy, & a barter/gift/$$$ economy). We return to human-scale relationships, non-harmful technology, healthy habits, time for spiritual practices and fulfilling work, village economics, & cooperative projects. In other words: a safe place to raise healthy children.
Also, we claim our intrinsic sovereignty, free from the surveillance & manipulation of the growing Technocratic State.
This is the vision of the Halcyon Community: to manifest the New Earth through our own hands & hearts. We do it so that there will be future generations of our human family.
Our community is bilingual (English & Spanish). We are currently accepting applications from people interested in joining us.

How to join

Interested individuals can contact us for our community prospectus document that outlines the vision, mission, values, community aspects, requirements, skills we are looking for, roles needed, and what we are preparing for in terms of what we anticipate in relation to the Cataclysm/Technocratic dystopia.
Step 1) Contact us to get the conversation started.
Step 2) We send you the prospectus to review.
Step 3) If inspired by the prospectus, we send you a questionnaire to fill out.
Step 4) We conduct an online interview.
Step 5 ) Transition to Linux operating system and privacy platforms in order to participate in group calls and chat.
Step 6) Trial period for co-living/working together.
Step 7) Community consent for on-boarding new member.
Once a member of the community, each person needs to be committed to doing the work required to attain self-sufficiency. This would probably be a minimum of 25 hours/week/person for food production (work in the gardens, caring for the animals, etc.). What people do during their personal time is their business.
COMMUNITY LIVING – Working together in the organic gardens, in animal husbandry, and in bio-construction. Government model: Sociocracy and Sovereign Interdependence. We practice together communication skills and conflict resolution techniques.
ECONOMY – Barter/gift economy, as well as interface with global currencies and economic markets, while they exist.. No buy-in required to join. We practice generosity, reciprocity, and compassionate service.
HEALTH – Organic food – Physical practices – Regular spiritual practices (according to each person’s beliefs) – Sleeping and waking according to the sun – Alternative/natural medicine.
OFF-GRID – We choose to live without electricity, wireless devices, and out of cell range. We will maintain an office space with internet access, away from our living quarters.

Social Media Intern for GEN International Hours: Up to 20/month, flexible around your schedule and availability Location: Remote, work with Eva Goldfarb Focus: Instagram + LinkedIn (TikTok if you’re into it!) Hi! I’m Eva, and I run social media for GEN International — the global network connecting ecovillages, intentional communities, and regenerative culture-builders across every continent. I’m looking for a co-conspirator to help me tell the stories of the people quietly building the future: off-grid villages in the Philippines, permaculture farms in Senegal, urban cohousing projects in Berlin, elders passing down land wisdom in the Andes. It’s a wildly rich, wildly underrepresented world, and I want more people to fall in love with it the way I have. What you’ll actually do: Dream up and create content for Instagram and LinkedIn (reels, carousels, stories, captions that don’t sound like a corporate newsletter) Dig into our global network and turn your findings into stories people want to share Pitch your own ideas. If there’s a series, a theme, a format, or a corner of the network that lights you up, that’s what I want you to focus on. What we’re looking for: A natural storyteller, someone who can spot the human thread in a project update or a photo from a faraway village Genuinely curious about ecovillages, sustainability, intentional community, regenerative living Self-motivated and communicative; this is a flexible, trust-based role Why this role: This isn’t a “post 3x a week and don’t ask questions” internship. You’ll have real creative freedom to work on what excites you, learn how a global grassroots network tells its story, and build a portfolio full of meaningful, purpose-driven content. Plus you’ll be talking to people living some of the most interesting, intentional lives on the planet. If storytelling for a better world sounds like your kind of fun, let’s talk.
