What we do

The Love Plan is currently re-evaluating its location, among other things. If our lifestyle interests (see below) call to you, you’re welcome to email us to establish a connection. Where ever we are, we’re excited about living our values. :-)
We are a pair of homesteaders, living within (about) a 15 min. walk of the downtown of Mount Dora, Florida. We’ve been here since 2014, working to establish a more off-grid residence and self-sufficient food forest. In 2020, we joyfully went car-free. We make efforts to be generalists, involved in our own projects (i.e., those aspects of life that we welcome into our lives, such as home maintenance, gardening, building furniture, education, health care, and social and community connections). So far, we’ve been maintaining our 675 sq. ft., 2-bedroom, 1938 home; and feeding our edible garden on the stuff that we have, here on the land (almost an acre). We’ve grown over 60 different species of edible plants; mostly fruit trees (which we’ve felt deeply grateful for). Mostly, we eat a low-fat, raw, vegan diet; having done so for about 10 years. Occasionally, we’re excited to see animals in our yard (exx., birds, domestic cats, lizards, opossums, raccoons, rodents, and snakes). We live with some 25, plus, ft. trees and intend to harmonize with our landscape; so we’ve seen that some of the animals make a home, here. :-) In addition to the garden, we’ve built about half of our furniture; which we made out of solid wood and rubbed with an edible, walnut oil.
We enjoy living with (more nearly) “just enough,” beauty, cleanliness, and tidiness. We often find ourselves analyzing life matters, such as health, freedom, spirituality, and the workings of reality. Our vision is of a volunteer society (one without capital). We aim for our ideals in everything we think and do. We love compassionate communication and working on developing egalitarian relating! We aim for a life of love and harmony with everyone and everything! :-)

Communities for Future Online Summit

The Communities for Future Summit is an entirely free, online experience hosted by the Global Ecovillage Network (GEN). From the 1 to 10 February 2020 we will daily unlock 3 interviews with well known thought leaders, change makers, indigenous elders, community lovers and youth activists from around the planet. During the Summit, we will explore: Systemic change – a complete transformation of our human institutions and workplaces, Inner change – the inner healing that is needed in order for us to heal our relationships to the world around us; Change on the Ground – how communities around the planet are already becoming space of regeneration; and Youth Change – the young people who are taking to the streets, raising their voices and demanding climate justice for future generations. Together, we will engage in finding our authentic response to the Climate Emergency, a response that is not driven by urgency, fear, panic and hurry, but comes from a deep sense of connectedness, love and responsibility. Young people are taking to the streets, demanding that we all take urgent action on the climate and planetary crisis. GEN is picking up the baton and inviting all of us to manifest the needed change now, protecting, restoring and transforming in our communities, municipalities and countries. Let’s build Communities for Future. Let’s find our response to the Climate Emergency. Please join us.
