If you would like to experience work as a meditation, you are most welcome to join us. You may work for 1 week to full time employment with us. We practice caring, responsibility, friendship, honesty, hard work, truthfulness & personal growth while working at Loving.

International Ecovillage Design Education

This international Ecovillage Design Education course (EDE) is a four week course that is certified by Gaia Education (www.gaiaeducation.org) & recognised as a contributor to UNESCO Global Action Programme (GAP) on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). This Ecovillage Design Education course will be held from the 29th of July until the 26th of August, 2018 at Gaia Ashram, Thailand. The curriculum for this course has been developed by Gaia Education and is often referred to as EDE. The EDE provides students of all ages with the knowledge and practical skills on how to design a society or a community/village which uses energy and materials with greater efficiency, distributes wealth fairly and strives to eliminate the concept of waste. The knowledge of EDE is also adaptable for personal or family level of transformation, in urban and rural contexts. This EDE is also supported and acknowledged by the Global Ecovillage Network (GEN) and is actively supported on the ground by a collaboration of GENOA (Global Ecovillage Network of Oceania & Asia) & NextGENOA (the youth network of GENOA).

GEN AFRICA Conference 2016

GEN Africa in partnership with GEN international will hold the upcoming Conference at Ghana Permaculture Institute (GPI) in Techiman from December 1 – 6, 2016. 35 active leaders and advisors of the network will meet in order to consolidate the work we have done so far and plan the way forward. The conference will include the General Assembly. The conference aims at achieving the following objectives: Celebrate official registration of GEN Africa Strengthen GEN Africa, review the strategy and plan next steps Meet as a General Assembly: reporting on activities and finances for 2014/2015, re-elect new members into the Council etc. Re-examine how we function as a council and as a GEN Region Develop functional partnerships Evaluate targets for 2016, identify targets for 2017 and align with GEN International targets. Identify more people in the network to support with specific tasks (i.e. fundraising and website management) Finalizing memberships Networking and sharing within the Region Are you inspired by this movement or are you already implementing Ecovillage programs in your country? Then you don’t want to miss this opportunity. Unfortunately we are not able to bring everyone to this conference by way of funding and venue capacity, but you are welcome to let us know if you could fund your own costs to be able to join us all. Revitalising African Villages

GEN is developing a continent-wide programme to transform villages in Africa into dynamic, viable, resilient communities that can wisely and sustainablymanage the natural resources upon which they depend. The conversation will look at successful ecovillage programmes (in Senegal, Egypt, Tanzania) and propose ways of dramatically scaling up these experiences.
