About the Communities

What we do

Misriyati was inspired by the growing intolerance among the different components of the Egyptian society: religions, social classes and cultural groups. These symptoms revealed the need to work on gaining a new awareness of our reality with its structures and relationships, of improving our competences and skills in dealing with diversity or in meeting conflict, and our re-adoption of values that can enhance peaceful living.
Deep discussion led the founding team to consider “education” as the main entry point for social and cultural change: and hence, Misriyati was conceived as an educational “space”:
• A space for exploration: of the self, the other, the structures and the culture, the underlying fears and stereotypes, the lacking skills, the missing values… and the alternatives.
• A space of interaction: sincere human interactions, between the “real” people… each with his/her own legitimate luggage of experiences, feelings and thoughts.
• A space of learning and growth…
Our Vision is that of the Egyptian society knowing about principles of peaceful living and nonviolent
ways of dealing with conflicts, and having the possibility of applying
those principles in its daily life.
Our mission:
(1) Providing the knowledge about peaceful living: Misriyati create these spaces where the knowledge can be explored, shared and created together.
(2) Creating the success stories and peaceful living model: by encouraging an action that is congruent with values.
(3) Building the community for peaceful living: and by this we mean the network of individuals sharing the same values and ideals and supporting each other in their efforts to promote the values of a culture of peace.

Social Media Intern for GEN International Hours: Up to 20/month, flexible around your schedule and availability Location: Remote, work with Eva Goldfarb Focus: Instagram + LinkedIn (TikTok if you’re into it!) Hi! I’m Eva, and I run social media for GEN International — the global network connecting ecovillages, intentional communities, and regenerative culture-builders across every continent. I’m looking for a co-conspirator to help me tell the stories of the people quietly building the future: off-grid villages in the Philippines, permaculture farms in Senegal, urban cohousing projects in Berlin, elders passing down land wisdom in the Andes. It’s a wildly rich, wildly underrepresented world, and I want more people to fall in love with it the way I have. What you’ll actually do: Dream up and create content for Instagram and LinkedIn (reels, carousels, stories, captions that don’t sound like a corporate newsletter) Dig into our global network and turn your findings into stories people want to share Pitch your own ideas. If there’s a series, a theme, a format, or a corner of the network that lights you up, that’s what I want you to focus on. What we’re looking for: A natural storyteller, someone who can spot the human thread in a project update or a photo from a faraway village Genuinely curious about ecovillages, sustainability, intentional community, regenerative living Self-motivated and communicative; this is a flexible, trust-based role Why this role: This isn’t a “post 3x a week and don’t ask questions” internship. You’ll have real creative freedom to work on what excites you, learn how a global grassroots network tells its story, and build a portfolio full of meaningful, purpose-driven content. Plus you’ll be talking to people living some of the most interesting, intentional lives on the planet. If storytelling for a better world sounds like your kind of fun, let’s talk.

Laboratorio - La rueda medicinal

In March, directly after the Gaia-Initiation Valle de Sensacoines will host the first Ecovillage Laboratory. It is essential to attend a Gaia-Initiation as an introduction to the topic! In this laboratory time we will dedicate ourselves to the use of the medicine wheel as a tool to accompany communitarian and personal processes. This ancient system represents all aspects of BEING – in a circular form. It is well suitable for accompanying and supporting human processes: Conflict resolution in communities Group dynamic in a work team Communitarian project development Creative processes Self-reflection and personal growth The nowadays popular tool to use the medicine wheel for project work is the so-called Dragon Dreaming. In this laboratory time we also invite people who work with Dragon Dreaming, to reflect the variety of possibilities of the use of the medicine wheel. Condition of Participation We invite people with experience in the work with the medicine wheel and also newcomers that are interested in the use of the medicine wheel in their life situation. People who already participated in Gaia Initiations in previous years or other places can directly start with the laboratory time. Others should attend the Gaia-Initation that is happening right before this laboratory time in Valle de Sensaciones. – Or if you have experiences with the medicine wheel in other contexts, document them in the application form and we will have a look if a participation independent of the Gaia-Initiation seems to be reasonable. For applications you find a button at: http://www.sensaciones.de/en/node/247
