Raan is a community-run eco-living space. Our mission, put simply, is conservation through livelihoods. We believe the forests, farms, rivers and villages around us are best protected when local communities can thrive alongside them. So when tourism creates dignified income, people have a stronger reason to preserve the land, traditions and slower ways of life that make the Konkan so special.
This is why we operate differently. We avoid single-use plastic, keep waste low, compost organic matter, use solar power, grow food on our permaculture farm, support local home kitchens, and maintain a calm no-noise environment that respects birds, wildlife and village rhythms. Sustainability here is a part of daily life.
Our work in responsible tourism has been recognised through an award by Outlook Traveller and Maharashtra Tourism, which has encouraged us to keep growing with the same intent.
We are an eco-stay so everyone is welcome to come over! The idea is to live in harmony with nature.
