Hi! I’m Eva, and I run social media for GEN International — the global network connecting ecovillages, intentional communities, and regenerative culture-builders across every continent. I’m looking for a co-conspirator to help me tell the stories of the people quietly building the future: off-grid villages in the Philippines, permaculture farms in Senegal, urban cohousing projects in Berlin, elders passing down land wisdom in the Andes. It’s a wildly rich, wildly underrepresented world, and I want more people to fall in love with it the way I have. What you’ll actually do: Dream up and create content for Instagram and LinkedIn (reels, carousels, stories, captions that don’t sound like a corporate newsletter) Dig into our global network and turn your findings into stories people want to share Pitch your own ideas. If there’s a series, a theme, a format, or a corner of the network that lights you up, that’s what I want you to focus on. What we’re looking for: A natural storyteller, someone who can spot the human thread in a project update or a photo from a faraway village Genuinely curious about ecovillages, sustainability, intentional community, regenerative living Self-motivated and communicative; this is a flexible, trust-based role Why this role: This isn’t a “post 3x a week and don’t ask questions” internship. You’ll have real creative freedom to work on what excites you, learn how a global grassroots network tells its story, and build a portfolio full of meaningful, purpose-driven content. The New School Permaculture PDC is centred on the needs of the student so you get what you want and what you need with a course adapted to your projects, needs and dreams. This course is presented by creative non formal education methods, that are based on creating a bridge between the right and left side of the brain, so that the analytical and creative abilities of the students get fully stimulated and get the most out of the experience…for many people is the most empowering and inspiring transformative process of their lives…and they carry this with them everywere they go….and thats our goal. The course follows a set syllabus and leads to the internationally recognised Permaculture Design Certificate. Taught by Helder Valente of the New School Permaculture. Helder studied and worked with Bill Mollison, Sepp Holzer, Doug Bullock, Rosemary Morrow, Darren dougherty, Ernst Gotsh and others, and is now teaching all over the world, he started in 2009 teaching permaculture to students at the agriculture university and since then learning and teaching on many different climates. While living in the city he dedicated 3 years on developing a urban permaculture project in the center of Lisbon and co created several Permaculture Institutes worldwide. That’s how it all started. Helder never stopped and this last months spent his time working with Quechua farmers in the Andes and designing projects in the Amazon jungle. You can be part of the PDC and also chose to be part of the PFC, a course that will teach you for 5 days everything about food forests, Course will be in a beautifull farm in the North of Portugal. The Kolamba Yathra is an actively engaged walking journey around the city of Colombo – the commercial capital of Sri Lanka. ECO-V is the organisation coordinating the journey, and has been conducting Yathras since 2011 to raise awareness, that leads to action and behavioral change, on climate change issues among the general public. It also serves to catalyze and support the creation of green youth leaders. The youth who are taking part in Yathras gain exposure to ‘green activities,’ serving as a gateway to personal and community behavioral change, while preparing the ground to become green youth leaders. After participating in the Yathra, these engaged youth will have an opportunity to conduct their own ‘green project’ to combat climate change within their own communities, through the facilitation and support of ECO-V. This year, ECO-V will be conducting our 3rd Yathra,“The Kolamba Yathra: An Interfaith Journey for Sustainability,” as a one-day program with at least 100 youth of diverse religious and spiritual backgrounds. The main objective of this Yathra is to raise awareness of climate change issues across the Colombo public, to engage religious and political leadership on climate change action, and most particularly to engage youth in modeling and action for eco-friendly, sustainable methods, climate change education and adaptation/mitigation and biodiversity restoration and conservation efforts. It is intended as well to support the global event, the “People’s Pilgrimage” which is gathering a global ‘critical mass’ of grassroots and spiritual leaders in an interlinked global ‘climate Yathra’ or pilgrimage, collecting climate stories, and gathering local voices and messaging to bring to the global leaders at the pinnacle inter-governmental climate talks, COP 21, in Paris this November and December 2015.
