Joining the Eco-Village Research and Study Center
The Eco-Village Research and Study Center at Unity Eco Village, Chapakot, Pokhara, Nepal, is a space dedicated to research, education, and hands-on learning focused on environmental sustainability, eco-tourism, and community well-being. If you are passionate about environmental studies, sustainable development, or ecological conservation, here’s how you can join us in our mission.
How to Join Us
Research & Study Opportunities
The center welcomes researchers, students, and environmentalists interested in exploring and contributing to ongoing sustainability projects.
We focus on areas like waste management, plastic pollution, agroecology, climate change, and renewable energy solutions.
Students and researchers can collaborate with local communities to gather data, develop strategies, and implement solutions that benefit both the environment and the people of the Eco Village.
Internships & Volunteer Programs
Internships: Available for students pursuing degrees in environmental science, sustainable development, and related fields. Interns will gain practical experience by participating in research, community outreach, and environmental conservation efforts.
Volunteering: Volunteers are encouraged to assist in day-to-day operations, including conducting environmental surveys, educating the community, and supporting research initiatives. Volunteers contribute Rs. 500 per day for food and accommodation.
Collaborative Projects
The center works closely with local communities, NGOs, and international partners to drive research and environmental advocacy. If you have a specific project in mind or would like to collaborate, we welcome new ideas and partnerships.
Projects often focus on sustainable farming practices, eco-tourism development, waste management, and plastic recycling initiatives.

Hi! I’m Eva, and I run social media for GEN International — the global network connecting ecovillages, intentional communities, and regenerative culture-builders across every continent. I’m looking for a co-conspirator to help me tell the stories of the people quietly building the future: off-grid villages in the Philippines, permaculture farms in Senegal, urban cohousing projects in Berlin, elders passing down land wisdom in the Andes. It’s a wildly rich, wildly underrepresented world, and I want more people to fall in love with it the way I have. What you’ll actually do: Dream up and create content for Instagram and LinkedIn (reels, carousels, stories, captions that don’t sound like a corporate newsletter) Dig into our global network and turn your findings into stories people want to share Pitch your own ideas. Tratamiento de Aguas Residuales

Agua es vida, el recurso más importante de todos. Desde la perspectiva de Sunseed como un centro educativo sobre la vida de bajo impacto nos gustaría ofrecerles un taller para aprender, profundizar e intercambiar los conocimientos teóricos y prácticos sobre el cuidado de agua. ¿Cuál es el objetivo del taller? En general la idea de los talleres de Sunseed y Paissano es que cualquiera tenga la capacidad de evaluar los costos y beneficios que implicaría usar el agua de una manera más sostenible. En este caso específico la idea es que al final del taller tengamos la capacidad de hacer un dimensionamiento rápido de un sistema de fitodepuración para nuestros hogares y calcular rápidamente cuánto nos costaría construirlo, qué materiales necesitaríamos, dónde conseguirlos y estimar qué beneficios nos traería construirlo. Vamos a intentar a responder la pregunta: ¿cómo dejar de pensar sobre el agua servida como un desecho, sino un recurso valorado? Para aprender cómo hacerlo vamos a trabajar con el sistema de tratamiento de aguas existente en Sunseed, pasar por los componentes y ensuciarnos las manos (un poco…) con la reconstrucción de un humedal artificial. Al terminar nos sentaremos por grupos a diseñar un sistema similar para nuestros hogares. En la noche vamos a proyectar un video sobre el tema y divertirnos con charlas y/o música. ¿Para quién? En general el taller está dirigido a estudiantes de arquitectura o ingenierías, albañiles, constructores, propietarios de cortijos, familias que autoconstruyan sus viviendas, colectivos rurales, etc. ¡Pero cualquier persona puede participar!
