Magdeburg, state capital of Saxony-Anhalt and one of the greenest cities in Germany, located between Hanover and Berlin, is home of Vitopia. Vitopia is both a group of people and a special place in one of the city’s oldest landscape parks, the Herrenkrugpark.
Vitopia has:
– a café with fairtrade / regional / ecological menu and room for parties, seminars and team meetings – a place to stay and enjoy
– shared living space
– a simple hostel
The community at Vitopia lives together resource-saving in everyday life and offers seminars e.g. on climate change, for individuals and groups. Opportunities for action on climate protection can be experienced locally. The Community at Vitopia shows that CO2 emissions can be reduced to one third of the geman average. This is done through the consistent and moderate use of proven climate-friendly technologies and options for action.
Vitopia – a place for PERSONAL MEETINGS, LIVING HISTORY, CULTURE IN NATURE and ecological, political as well as solidary commitment.
The café verde is open on saturday and sunday between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.
The hostel offers regular accomodation.

It is possible to arrange a time of participation in the life and work of the community.
A basic financial contribution for food and accommodation will be needed.
If living space is available at that time and there is interest from both sides – the community and the visitor – , a probationary period can start.
A residential project: people live here as their primary home.
