Hello and welcome to my LinkedIn profile! I’m Kapakalasa Zelo Chiley , and I am a Congolese refugee living in Kampala . I am the CO-FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR of Refugee Together for Social Transformation (RTST), a voluntary organization established in 2020 .I’m on a mission to empower refugees with disabilities and unlock their incredible potential. With over six years of dedicated work in the field, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with remarkable organizations to drive positive change in the lives of refugees with disabilities and the host communities in Uganda .

Our mission
To Empower Refugees with Disability, Orphans and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) around the
world to overcome the burdens of deprivation and vulnerability to become healthy, educated,
self-sustaining and contributing members of society.
Core Activities:
Education: RTST provides access to quality education for refugee children and youth, including formal schooling, vocational training, and adult literacy programs.
Livelihoods: RTST empowers refugees to become self-sufficient through skills training, microfinance, and business development programs.
Mental Health and Psychosocial Support: RTST offers counseling, therapy, and community-based activities to help refugees cope with trauma and build resilience.
Advocacy: RTST advocates for the rights and protection of refugees at the local, national, and international levels.
Emergency Response: RTST responds to humanitarian crises affecting refugees and displaced persons, providing essential aid like food, water, shelter, and medical care.
Additional Activities:
Reconciliation: RTST promotes peacebuilding and reconciliation among refugees and host communities through dialogue, cultural exchange, and conflict resolution programs.
Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response: RTST works to prevent and respond to gender-based violence, providing safe spaces, legal aid, and counseling services to survivors.
Child Protection: RTST prioritizes the protection of refugee children, ensuring their access to education, healthcare, and safe environments.
