Nea Guinea is a non-profit organization in Nea Marki-Athens, involved with the building of resilient communities, and specializing in the issues of self-reliance on renewable energy, organic agriculture, natural building and alternative health. Since 2009, Nea Guinea has organized more than one hundred practical seminars in Athens and other parts of Greece, has organized events in social centers and schools in Athens, and has carried out several off-grid renewable energy installations in rural permaculture and sustainable living projects. Nea Guinea is situated in the suburb of Nea Makri, practicing permaculture in a one acre field with vegetables, fruit trees, bees and herbs and maintains an accommodation space for 14 people in a small house next to the sea.
