Kavitha Urvasie Selvaraj is third generation born into the Auroville intentional community. She is Indian and Dutch by nationality.
Kavitha studied Sustainable Development in the Netherlands, and then settled in Auroville where she worked in Alternative Education, Communications, Networking and Alternative Governance.
In Auroville, she founded the YouthLink Service and the GEN-Auroville Desk, with the support from Joss Brooks (GEN Elder). She has worked for sometime as GEN International as Trustee, and as Educational Director for the GEN Asia/Oceania Network.
Kavitha has run ‘Ecovillage Design Education’ programs, certified by Gaia Education, for over a decade. She also works with ‘Ecovillage Tours’ as a guide for the region of Bali.
Kavitha now lives full time in Bali, where her husband Michael and her manage the Alaya Ecolodge as a venue for retreats and education.
They are in process of developing various ecovillage regional projects – at the heart of which they are founding an Ecovillage learning campus – together with their local community and international network.
