Paulo Bessa, born in Portugal (1981), has developed since young a love for nature. In his early twenties he graduated as a Biologist, and developed a PhD in medical research. Then he felt the call for a life more dedicated to sustainability and community. He has lived the last 10 years in different ecovillages and developed more than 15 permaculture projects and organized educational events. He has worked as a consultant and has particularly interest in the topics of carbon reduction, food forests, sustainable food production, environmental education, and conservation biology. Paulo has lived in several different countries (such as Austria, Iceland, Holland, UK) and he loves inspiring others. He has lived in Findhorn community since April 2017, with his partner and young daughter, and works for GEN and the local community shop. In GEN he has done a variety of roles, from human resources to fundraising and project management.
