NorthStar is an ambitious “social innovation experiment in action” in the planning stages, envisioned as an extensive urban-rural precinct which provides a vibrant gathering place & hub of connectivity, communication, innovative actions & co-operation across dynamic community partnerships & contribution from people of all ages, local businesses, local Council & existing Community Services. It is a way of positively impacting the lives of 1000’s of people on a daily basis and immersing the 30 Regenerative Principles of Culture, Ecology, Social and Economy into the wider community
Its Mission is to be many things for many people – fostering deep relationships & networks to develop a thriving local economy of community building, sharing & magnifying resources, activating social & ecological health, and disrupting disadvantage.
The Vision is to be collaborating and co-creating a thriving local ecosystem of Regional Economy, Ecology & Permaculture, Education, Indigenous Heritage, Culture & Creativity, Wellbeing, Art, Spirituality, Social Purpose & Conscious Community.
It will operate as a Community Cooperative run under a clear Constitution and with a board of Directors and is the vision of Founder Monique Jordan
Its purpose is to co-create a shared inclusive environment of trust & partnership, and provide resources and resilience for individuals and community groups within the region to grow, thrive and integrate as a more fully interconnected community. It will encourage and facilitate the celebration of our unique indigenous cultural heritage, living lightly & in right relationship to the earth, and listening, learning and living in respectful relationships with one another
