During his presentations he will uncover new perspectives to keep permaculture activists ahead of the game. “The interactions between Climate Chaos, Oil Shocks and Economic Contraction is confused in the minds of the public and policy makers alike. The rapidly changing context in which sustainability activists and entrepreneurs work is reshaping the context for planning and action.” This workshop is intended to help those at the front line of sustainability use the over-the-horizon thinking of leading Australian sustainability teacher, David Holmgren. Building on thirty years of permaculture teaching, Transition activism and personal example David synthesises how to survive, thrive and contribute to a better world, wracked by unfolding climate chaos, peak energy, economic contraction and geopolitical stress. The Brown Tech Energy Descent scenario is the reference point and context for the workshop, but David also draws on more recent published and unpublished work, including an Energy Descent Action Planning consultancy for Hepburn Shire Council (Vic) as well as his influential Retrofitting the Suburbs presentations that have evolved over time to the current version Surfing The Suburbs. INCUBADORA DE ECOALDEAS Jornadas de Formación Ecoaldeana dirigidas a individuos, grupos, comunidades y otros colectivos en la comunidad de la Base, Girona. Desde el 14 al 23 de Junio 2013 Las jornadas tienen como principal objetivo dar a conocer el proyecto de la “Incubadora”, diseñado para atender a la creciente demanda de formación e información sobre el universo ecoaldeano, la autogestión rural o las comunidades. Dirigida principalmente hacia grupos en formación, o con algo de historia a sus espaldas, pero también para individuos que quieran aprender a sentar las bases de una actividad próspera y duradera. Se trata también de brindar un espacio para que dichos grupos puedan convivir por primera vez en una inmersión comunitaria virtual, una especie de “simulador de vuelo”, tomando posesión de nuestro espacio como si fuera ya el suyo en realidad. Desde un primer momento habrá que ir aprendiendo cómo decidir todos las cuestiones del cotidiano convivir… Una invitación a todas las personas que se sientan atraídas por estilos de vida alternativos, para jugar juntas, bailar, compartir, para volar alto pero también para saber cómo se aterrizan los proyectos. Por algo esto fue un aeródromo… Temas y talleres: Aprenderemos sobre cómo crear un documento de visión de grupo, técnicas de comunicación, cómo tomar decisiones colectivamente, la facilitación, cómo afrontar y aprovechar los conflictos, Permacultura, yoga, salud integral, ejemplos de economía alternativa, monedas locales, bioconstrucción, agricultura ecológica, la espiritualidad en las comunidades, los micro organismos eficientes, el liderazgo, cuestiones de género y mucho más. The New School Permaculture PDC is centred on the needs of the student so you get what you want and what you need with a course adapted to your projects, needs and dreams. This course is presented by creative non formal education methods, that are based on creating a bridge between the right and left side of the brain, so that the analytical and creative abilities of the students get fully stimulated and get the most out of the experience…for many people is the most empowering and inspiring transformative process of their lives…and they carry this with them everywere they go….and thats our goal. The course follows a set syllabus and leads to the internationally recognised Permaculture Design Certificate. Taught by Helder Valente of the New School Permaculture. Helder studied and worked with Bill Mollison, Sepp Holzer, Doug Bullock, Rosemary Morrow, Darren dougherty, Ernst Gotsh and others, and is now teaching all over the world, he started in 2009 teaching permaculture to students at the agriculture university and since then learning and teaching on many different climates. While living in the city he dedicated 3 years on developing a urban permaculture project in the center of Lisbon and co created several Permaculture Institutes worldwide. That’s how it all started. Helder never stopped and this last months spent his time working with Quechua farmers in the Andes and designing projects in the Amazon jungle. You can be part of the PDC and also chose to be part of the PFC, a course that will teach you for 5 days everything about food forests, Course will be in a beautifull farm in the North of Portugal.
