This free two-day online event will explore human/plant connections, including ethics in human treatment of plants, plant sentience and communication, and opportunities for developing more respectful and reciprocal relationships between humans and plants. The goals of this conference are to: inspire people to change the ways in which they think about, interact with, and utilize plants so that their actions will be more respectful toward and collaborative with plants advance the perspective that plants are much more complex, sentient, and intelligent than is commonly acknowledged provide a forum for Indigenous and other perspectives that promote more respectful ways of relating with plants help to connect people who are interested in working for more respectful treatment of plants encourage and support the development of a network seeking to increase respectful treatment of plants that will continue after the event inspire and encourage scholarly emphasis on plant-human relationships The conference will be held on the Whova platform using Zoom to facilitate attendee participation and involvement.

After we procure those seeds, we put them on a cycle. We organized “Seed Exchange Days”, where people could meet and exchange their seeds, their knowledge and experiences. We tried to take it one step further and we are trying to categorize the seeds. For example, -there is a bean seed. But which type of bean seed is it? Or we try to categorize the seeds according to their durabilty in which city they could grow. We believe that all the seeds in the World are people’s seeds and we want to share them with everyone.

OBJECTIVES To reflect on the development of European citizenship and identity, and the role that the natural world has within this framework; To discuss the notion of “nature rights” and the ecoCitizen To reflect on the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King’s “I have a dream” speech; to imagine the future of Europe and European citizenship To introduce the learning pedagogy and methodology of Paulo Freire: how can we bring the natural world into the learning environment? How can we create spaces that nurture learning for liberation? How can we facilitate experiential and participatory learning styles? To clarify how the lessons learned can impact on practice in the workplace METHODOLOGY The trainers will use a facilitative approach, eliciting the experience, knowledge and skills of the participants as a key resource throughout the course. An action-reflection cycle will be introduced. The pedagogy of Paulo Freire will be modelled as a participatory and experiential teaching/learning methodology. The collective skills and experiences of adult participants are a key resource in learning; Freire’s “listening survey” will inform the negotiated curriculum and “generative themes” (language and issues that have direct relevance and meaning for participants) will enhance meaningful learning. Freire distinguished between education for domestication (the “banking” concept, whereby adults are treated as empty vessels to be filled with knowledge by the expert teacher) and education for liberation, whereby facilitators and participants work together as problem-posers and problem-solvers, to create new knowledge rooted in their own collective experiences. Giving you the opportunity to connect inspirational learning with a holiday, we have chosen the Croatian island Brač and the project Gea Viva for a special Dragon Dreaming experience. Located in a Mediterranean garden close the fishing village Milna, Gea Viva is a retreat camp and eco base, that invites you delve deeply into nature. The venue is surrounded by special places, such as the dragon’s cave, which will inspire our process. Here you can unwind, find inspiration, meet like-minded people and experience Permaculture, eco living, art and the creative forces of the Earth. Dragon Dreaming For all, who wish to discover and live their personal values and visions in life: in relationships, teams and projects. Intensive workshop You will evolve your project ideas through the Dragon Dreaming process: in the dreaming circle, you will experience how your idea (dream) becomes a joint vision, how to attract others and how dreams can be transformed into step-by step action. You will also learn how to navigate your project, which factors determine it’s success or failure and how to recognize them. Exploring all phases of Dragon Dreaming, we will create a joint project, based on inputs and needs of all participants. Learning by doing, you will be equipped with tools to persevere and refine your ideas when faced with dragons (challenges). To overcome blockages or win new project members and supporters, you will learn deep listening and charismatic communication.
