The Gaia Ashram Teacher Internship is a program where we provide a learning space for those who wish to deepen and widen their knowledge and skills relating to sustainable and conscious living, who wish to use their knowledge and skills to help creating a better place on earth and who wish to share their knowledge and skills with others, who want to gain experience on teaching, leading groups and practice their facilitation skills as well as other skills for community living. Who might be interested? We are providing this programme especially for people who are interested in teaching / practice/ experiment their knowledge that is related to sustainable or conscious living such as the following areas: Permaculture, Ecovillage Design, Deep Ecology, Spiritual Ecology, Wilderness retreats, Gardening, Natural Building, Alternative Technology, Nutrition, Herbalism, Healthy Food & Diet, Natural Healing & energy healing, Natural Products, Shamanism, Dance, Artists, Yoga & Tai Chi etc. What the Gaia Ashram Teacher Internship offers to teacher interns? Time to study/research/experiment in your area of expertise for two days a week. Gaia Ashram is an Permaculture Education Center established in 2012 on 6 hectares of land in the North East of Thailand. Gaia Ashram has over 10 years experience of practicing permaculture and applying permaculture principles to the design and the development of our land. Gaia Ashram aims to keep progressing the land towards absolute abundance for nature and people. Increasing biodiversity and life throughout the land. At the same time Gaia Ashram aims to increase resilience for upcoming challenging. Gaia Ashram is strongly rooted in the local community as our founders are from the local area. Gaia Ashram is working with the local community on different projects promoting ecological resilience. We strongly believe that there never was a bigger need for spreading knowledge of Permaculture and related sustainable living practices. Especially with increased climatic changes and the growing awareness of the ecological crises we are facing. In these times people’s empowerment and community experience is the right response to change. WHAT IS A PERMACULTURE DESIGN COURSE (PDC)? A Permaculture Design Certificate Course, short PDC, is an internationally known and accepted 72-hour theory course resulting in a Permaculture Design Certificate. The PDC provides an introduction to permaculture design according to the movement’s founder Bill Mollison and it is designed on his international course curriculum. The Permaculture Design Course equips you with the knowledge and an understanding on how to design sustainable living systems for a wide variety of landscapes and climates. To date, thousands of permaculture designers worldwide have been certified through this course, and now comprise a global network of educators, ecological activists, consultants and practitioners who are influencing the decisions of major corporations, small businesses, and people from all walks

What better way to wind down the growing season than to embark on a permaculture design course? At P3, our facilitators emphasize that permaculture goes beyond gardening and agriculture. With permaculture we can design solutions for: food deserts, the heat-island effect, and mis-managed waste systems. With edible landscaping and ecological architecture, we can increase the efficiency of our homes, our farms, and our communities. The solutions-based vision of permaculture practice is holistic and regenerative. P3 Permaculture alum have used their PDC to start projects and businesses in permaculture consultation, education, ecological agriculture, regenerative community organizing, urban farming, composting, and much more. The PDC program helps students to closely observe the natural principles and patterns that drive ecological systems.
