El martes vamos al bosque y los recursos de la madera, Miércoles y jueves, la autoconstrucción, su imaginación y el proceso. Conflictos… acoger la diversidad: 26 al 28 de julio Comenzamos el viernes a las 18h. Finalizamos el domingo a las 13h Los conflictos como expresión de la diversidad y los limites de personas, grupos, proyectos. Gestionar conflictos nos invita a explorar el espacio emocional, recolocar/nos en este espacio y crear otras miradas para los conflictos. We need new thinking and new models that recognise the challenges we face now, rather than blindly following the path that has led us into the converging crises we now face. These models will enable us to both mitigate the impacts and adapt to these inter-locking crises – including climate change, biodiversity loss, the peaking in fossil fuel energy supplies, financial instability, food security, poverty and so on. They will be built on an understanding of the complementarity of ecological protection and human flourishing. For 20 years, pioneering thinkers and practitioners have been developing alternative economic ideas, models and experiments that were once considered radical and marginal. As we turn to face a new economic dawn, these theories and practices are now moving centre stage. Why Schumacher College? This workshop will be focusing on Organic gardening, teaching you the fundamental techniques and knowledge to get you started with growing quality, fresh, organic vegetables all year round. From the urban balcony to the rural farm this workshop will teach you how to grow more veg in less space than you ever imagined to be possible! Maximizing your available space and producing an abundance of nutritious and delicious vegetables, herbs and fruit. The Permaculture design strategies will also be introduced to give you an inspiring insight into how Permaculture can re-shape your thinking, future and our gardens. -WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE WORKSHOP? This course is a hands-on course and you will gain first-hand experience of techniques during practical sessions. During this time of the year there are many different tasks that need to be completed to ensure that Gaia Ashram has an abundance of fresh organic produce during the growing season and these tasks will form the basis of our experiential learning. These practical sessions will be supplemented by theory and question and answer sessions in the classroom. During his presentations he will uncover new perspectives to keep permaculture activists ahead of the game. “The interactions between Climate Chaos, Oil Shocks and Economic Contraction is confused in the minds of the public and policy makers alike. The rapidly changing context in which sustainability activists and entrepreneurs work is reshaping the context for planning and action.” This workshop is intended to help those at the front line of sustainability use the over-the-horizon thinking of leading Australian sustainability teacher, David Holmgren. Building on thirty years of permaculture teaching, Transition activism and personal example David synthesises how to survive, thrive and contribute to a better world, wracked by unfolding climate chaos, peak energy, economic contraction and geopolitical stress. The Brown Tech Energy Descent scenario is the reference point and context for the workshop, but David also draws on more recent published and unpublished work, including an Energy Descent Action Planning consultancy for Hepburn Shire Council (Vic) as well as his influential Retrofitting the Suburbs presentations that have evolved over time to the current version Surfing The Suburbs.
