SPIRIT HORSE is a place like no other! Hidden in a secret valley, it appears as an ancient tribal village, nestled in the wild woods, under a waterfall and glittering rock face. Spirit Horse has flowered into something unforeseen; an ongoing experiment in off-grid, eco-community living. But with tribal style!
The dream began with a few tipis pitched at the far end of a farm in a huge meadow. One of the aims was to host retreats on a shoe-string budget, the only budget we had back then! We did not know it at the time but something much bigger was destined to happen. People fell in love with the place and with something else that cannot be named. We grew, and a community was born.
A charity was created in 2002, and after ten years of fundraising something impossible happened; we bought 200 acres of land, with the sole intention of letting it all grow completely wild!
That land now surrounds our hidden encampment that has become a settlement of roundhouses, yurts and temples. Today it’s called rewilding, but back then we spoke of it as “returning her original face”.
If your wild side is calling then come, sit by our fire – there is a seat with your name on it. Come away to the wild! Let that part of you be addressed and blessed.
You can also join our monthly internship program, or our volunteer program or our building team, where you live and learn with us for weeks or months of immersion – welcome home!
Come! Come for ecstatic creativity, candlelight suppers, nights of fierce drumming and dancing, silent enquiry, tribal togetherness, stillness among the groves, temple living and saunas by the rock pools. Come to learn, lend a hand, laugh and be silly. Come to deepen and dream and give life to new dreams. Discover, learn, build, realign – and play in waterfalls!

But – the Planet needs you to ask for a UN Resolution to repurpose a % of all militias in transforming urban heat islands into verdant sunlight reflecting zones – lowering their temperatures by as much as 12C and that way reducing global temperatures, and also stopping conflicts and related ecocide.
I cannot realise this strategy by myself so please put the Planet’s interests first and campaign until this happens.
