Gaia Education has held more than 190 EDE programmes in 34 countries on 6 continents, reaching more than 5 thousand people. Its programmes have been offered in settings ranging from tribal women and traditional communities to children and youth, ecovillages, urban slums, universities and resilience training centers. GAIA Ed also offers state-of-the-art study guides, training manuals, books, webinars, presentations and a quarterly newsletter to facilitate the delivery of on-line and on-site transformational learning opportunities for community development. The Curriculum is an official contribution to the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development.

The EDE programmes are meant for anyone wishing to learn about sustainability principles, and especially those who might like to teach the EDE in their local area. Feel free to download the open source Ecovillage Design Curriculum in different languages. Get the Curriculum
More than 180 EDE programmes have been formally Certified or Re-certified since 2005. While the Ecovillage Design Curriculum is an “open source” offering to the world, and people are free to use the material as they see fit, we encourage people to apply for Gaia Education certification for courses that meet the required criteria. A Gaia Education EDE Graduate, Anna Tambini, is representing Italy in the prestigious Green Building Solutions Awards – an international contest for exemplary building and solutions run by Contruction21. The 2015 Awards will be awarded during COP21 in Paris.
