Liz Walker

co-founder, EcoVillage Ithaca

As the co-founder of EcoVillage Ithaca in upstate New York, I have worked full-time for the last 28 years to help bring this vision into reality. We currently have three cohousing neighborhoods in our village (a total of 100 homes, with 230 people), and four organic farms on-site. I was on the founding board of Gaia Education, and offer tours, workshops, and immersion programs for people from all backgrounds. I have written two books, EcoVillage at Ithaca: Pioneering a Sustainable Culture, and Choosing a Sustainable Future: Ideas and Inspiration from Ithaca, NY. I love living in an ecovillage, and offering inspiration and practical tools to our many visitors.

Primary interests: Social (Diversity & Cohesion, Leadership & Governance); Culture (Nature Connection); Ecology (Green Building); Economy (Sharing & Collaboration)
