What we do

We at Project Abundance believe the answer to many of our global issues lie in building self-sufficient communities outside of the current global systems. Communities that grow their own food and medicines, bake their own bread, brew their own beer or press their own wine or cider. all this while harnessing your own electricity through renewable energy sources such solar, hydro, wind or biomass. All around the world people are making the decision to break away from the current economic cycle and go back to working with Mother Nature, rather than fighting her. Project Abundance aims to provide, teach and demonstrate ways of sustainable living based on construction and permaculture concepts and principles, tried and tested throughout generations and recently used worldwide through, Earthship, Zero Net Construction and Self-Sustainable projects. The aim is to utilise a variety of Free Energy sources, recycled materials in addition to Eco Farming techniques to provide an abundance of food, energy and other benefits, not only for the individuals involved, but also for the local community. Along with providing an easier life through sustaining and producing our basic living needs, we also aim to inpire a new way of thinking by spreading the Contributionism Philosophy (Ubuntu Movement) and some much needed community spirit.

How to join

Volunteers who realize the need to contribute towards a better world will meet to experience and discuss a range of sustainable development projects. Volunteers will learn about different aspects of sustainability from eco and organic permaculture/farming, eco friendly construction techniques and materials whilst gaining hands on experience and ideas to implement into their way of living and pass on the knowledge gained. In return for volunteers work, we will provide food and accommodation, including wifi, which we hope will encourage volunteers to share their experience and story throughout the project. We aim for this project to be a light hearted and fun experience whilst sharing the enthusiasm of being a valued part of creating and building a sustainable project across a spectrum of eco objectives.
One main aspects of this project will be to create material to spread ideas of a sustainable world to a wider audience. We aim to achieve this by gathering information and opinions of people involved using video clips to create a filmed documentary. This documentary will not only be created to inspire and teach others to adapt a more eco friendly way of living, but also unite its creators and like-minded individuals, and help strengthen their self belief.
Volunteers will be required to fund their own travel expenses but all accommodation and food expenses will be covered. There are limited beds available, which will be provided on a first come, first serve basis. In the case of all beds being reserved or if you choose to do so, there is also plenty of space for camping which will require tents and sleeping bags.

Social Media Intern for GEN International Hours: Up to 20/month, flexible around your schedule and availability Location: Remote, work with Eva Goldfarb Focus: Instagram + LinkedIn (TikTok if you’re into it!) Hi! I’m Eva, and I run social media for GEN International — the global network connecting ecovillages, intentional communities, and regenerative culture-builders across every continent. I’m looking for a co-conspirator to help me tell the stories of the people quietly building the future: off-grid villages in the Philippines, permaculture farms in Senegal, urban cohousing projects in Berlin, elders passing down land wisdom in the Andes. It’s a wildly rich, wildly underrepresented world, and I want more people to fall in love with it the way I have. What you’ll actually do: Dream up and create content for Instagram and LinkedIn (reels, carousels, stories, captions that don’t sound like a corporate newsletter) Dig into our global network and turn your findings into stories people want to share Pitch your own ideas. If there’s a series, a theme, a format, or a corner of the network that lights you up, that’s what I want you to focus on. What we’re looking for: A natural storyteller, someone who can spot the human thread in a project update or a photo from a faraway village Genuinely curious about ecovillages, sustainability, intentional community, regenerative living Self-motivated and communicative; this is a flexible, trust-based role Why this role: This isn’t a “post 3x a week and don’t ask questions” internship. You’ll have real creative freedom to work on what excites you, learn how a global grassroots network tells its story, and build a portfolio full of meaningful, purpose-driven content. Plus you’ll be talking to people living some of the most interesting, intentional lives on the planet. If storytelling for a better world sounds like your kind of fun, let’s talk.

Permaculture Design Course

In this program you will learn how to plan, create and nurture regenerative human settlements. You will gain new perspectives and understandings as well as a variety of tools for how we as human beings can become caretakers for the whole ecosystem; how we can create abundant and diverse community systems, gardens and landscapes by connecting to and understanding ourselves, our communities and our land in deeper ways. By learning to observe the patterns of life and its energy flows and cycles, by learning to work with them instead of against them, you will emerge with a complex skillset to bring about regenerative creative solutions in your life. This unique course brings Permaculture Design together with the indigenous cultural wisdom gathered by the international Nature Connection and Regenerative Culture movement and its networks, creating a cultural container that supports you on a journey into yourself, your community and the world around you. You will be immersed in this culture throughout the program as well as learn how to facilitate it in your own personal and professional context at home. This course will be a powerful, transformative community experience, enabled by a deep immersion into nature, music, and the presence of cultural visionaries and elders, all hosted in an evolving ecovillage in the magnificent mountains of the Swiss Alps. Topics: – Introduction to permaculture (history, ethics and principles) – Permaculture design methods and processes – Planning and building of permaculture systems – gardens, communities, companies – Self-sufficiency and sustainable living and building – Permaculture in agriculture – Practical know-how: Botany, composting, forest gardens and more – Social permaculture and community building, regenerative organisations, roles and project management – Nature connection tools and introduction to wilderness knowledge (Core Routines, 8 shields, bird language) – This course covers the Permaculture Association (B
