Ekovillage Seven Hills in Ukraine

The Ecovillage Seven Hills was founded in 2011 at the base of the village with the same name.
The quaint and fabulous name is not accidental. Geographically, the settlement is located almost in the heart of the country, where the steppes of the South and East meet the woods of the West. In this area near the huge water reservoir the Dnieper Upland has created amazing transformation with natural landscape. Due to this, the old forests and feather-grass steppes, deep ravines and steep hills remained intact. The Svetlovodsk Regional Landscape Ecological Park was recently founded on this territory and has the total area of 60320,00 hectares. It officially started working in early 2018 and aims to preserve and restore the authentic flora and fauna of this area. The Ecovillage Seven Hills happened to be in the territory of the Landscape Ecological Park, and this gave a great opportunity for all residents of the settlement to contribute to this life-affirming project.
In early 2019, three young families live in our settlement and each family owns about two hectares of land. The Seven Hills operates on the principles of full freedom and the autonomy of each family. Despite the fact that each family implements its own unique way to live, all residents of the Ecovillage Seven Hills are united by common ideas of sustainable development, natural way of life and nutrition and equal harmonious relations between members of society.
Today we are implementing a joint project of green tourism in the Landscape Ecological Park. And we invite volunteers to participate in the project. We started by repairing the house for volunteers to make it cozy and welcoming. Then we plan to renovate a large building for training workshops and festivals. In this project, all members of our settlement put into life their own ideas and achievements in the sustainable development of natural ecosystems. You can try too!
