By mimicking nature to heal broken systems (both ecological and social) permaculture provides a variety of approaches for positive change. In this introductory weekend, Graham Calder of P3 Permaculture will walk participants through the basics of permaculture philosophy and design. ​ This introductory weekend is designed to equip participants with the confidence and ability to identify and overcome the design problems that surround us. The first day of the course will focus on the history, ethics, and principles of permaculture, as well as provide an introduction to its design methods. We will then use permaculture to explore solutions to the challenges we face in our homes and communities. Examples of permaculture projects from around the world will provide useful case studies. On day two we will put theory into practice: together we will go through the steps of implementing a permaculture design, from observation to the generation of appropriate design strategies. The Deanery Project is a rural learning centre and demonstration site that provides hands-on learning and skill sharing opportunities designed to strengthen community and protect the environment. We are excited to host the Power of Community online summit in Mongolia as a hub. The Permaculture Mongolia Club was established in 2016 with few enthusiasts in permaculture. Located in a Mediterranean garden close the fishing village Milna, Gea Viva is a retreat camp and eco base, that invites you delve deeply into nature. The venue is surrounded by special places, such as the dragon’s cave, which will inspire our process. Here you can unwind, find inspiration, meet like-minded people and experience Permaculture, eco living, art and the creative forces of the Earth. On the 5 -day Training you`ll get to know the method and practice it. And you will also learn how to tame the dragons all in the beautiful settings of the Adriatic seaside. This is an end of Winter transitioning into beginning of Spring event. It is not reliant on specific Gregorian Calendar and Mechanical Clock time coordinates but will mostly occur between the Chinese New Year and the Spring Equinox. One idea is to create tonics and fermented beverages with the sap that is running from the trees: sugar and silver maple, birch, etc. Making different batches that combine the sap with apple and blueberry fruit juices, extracts made from roots and herbs, etc. Getting seedlings going and the greenhouse structure built is also a priority. Folks can get in touch about joining us to gather in work, song and celebration for the coming year.
