Social Media Intern for GEN International Hours: Up to 20/month, flexible around your schedule and availability Location: Remote, work with Eva Goldfarb Focus: Instagram + LinkedIn (TikTok if you’re into it!) Hi! I’m Eva, and I run social media for GEN International — the global network connecting ecovillages, intentional communities, and regenerative culture-builders across every continent. I’m looking for a co-conspirator to help me tell the stories of the people quietly building the future: off-grid villages in the Philippines, permaculture farms in Senegal, urban cohousing projects in Berlin, elders passing down land wisdom in the Andes. It’s a wildly rich, wildly underrepresented world, and I want more people to fall in love with it the way I have. What you’ll actually do: Dream up and create content for Instagram and LinkedIn (reels, carousels, stories, captions that don’t sound like a corporate newsletter) Dig into our global network and turn your findings into stories people want to share Pitch your own ideas. If there’s a series, a theme, a format, or a corner of the network that lights you up, that’s what I want you to focus on. What we’re looking for: A natural storyteller, someone who can spot the human thread in a project update or a photo from a faraway village Genuinely curious about ecovillages, sustainability, intentional community, regenerative living Self-motivated and communicative; this is a flexible, trust-based role Why this role: This isn’t a “post 3x a week and don’t ask questions” internship. You’ll have real creative freedom to work on what excites you, learn how a global grassroots network tells its story, and build a portfolio full of meaningful, purpose-driven content. Plus you’ll be talking to people living some of the most interesting, intentional lives on the planet. If storytelling for a better world sounds like your kind of fun, let’s talk.

Natural Building Workshop

Come study the art and practice of natural finishes. Learn how to utilize breathable, low impact, non-toxic materials to make protective, beautiful and durable finishes. In this in-depth hands-on workshop you will be applying earthen plaster to the interior and exterior of a Tiny Home, the Cedar Nest, at Wilson Creek Gardens. The Project The Cedar Nest is an on going project that started in 2013 utilizing 95% repurposed materials from a 1920’s home and from the land at WCG. The structure is designed to demonstrate simple construction techniques in a small footprint, 11’x16’. It was in-filled with a straw clay slip last year and now is ready for the walls to receive the final plaster layer. We will be utilizing mostly on-site materials. What You Will Learn: • Sourcing and processing materials for making your own healthy, low cost finishes! • Proper methods for natural ingredients when preparing and applying clay based plaster. • Practice making and applying other types of finishes which can be applied to other surfaces such as; cement, bricks, drywall and latex paint. • The many advantages of constructing a tiny home with ecologically friendly building techniques. Who will benefit from this workshop? Builders, homesteaders, homeowners, interior decorators and artists enjoy being able to make and apply these healthy finishes successfully to both interior and exterior walls. Class cost: Three-day: $320.00 Includes: meals and camping: $20.00 Early bird discount (if register by 6/24) Daily rate: $ 110.00 Includes lunch. Location: Wilson Creek Gardens (http://cascadiapermaculture.com) Class will be held on the site of a 7-acre homestead and permaculture demonstration site located outside Cottage Grove, Oregon Registration: Contact je************@***il.com Instructor Eva Edleson is a talented natural builder, cook, gardener, and craftswoman. Design Ecovillages & LB Communities

Tues, 24 March – Sun, 29 March 2015 This course teaches a sequential approach to designing an ecovillage/land-based community using permaculture design principles and methodology, culminating in small group designs which encompass each broad step. The course is designed as an advanced module for PDC holders as well as those well familiar with the concepts of Permaculture. In order to design harmonious human settlements which marry the needs of people with the needs of the land, we begin by learning attunement skills to sensitize ourselves to the natural environment. The ‘nuts and bolts’ aspect of this course will draw upon mature examples of some of the most successful international ecovillage-communities as our role models. One of these is our residential learning-ground of Tui Community. Course content: reading the landscape and site assessment, land selection and land tenure systems, internal zoning, siting buildings, collective infrastructure (eg water, access, sewerage), land caretaking, seasonal calendars, regeneration of wilderness areas, community-scale food production, and social systems. Who is this course for? – permaculture designers and developers – people living or preparing to live in land-based communities/ecovillages – community development workers who are engaged in land-based projects Pre-requisites: Permaculture Design certificate, or prior experience or study/reading of Permaculture.

Earth Activism - Workshop with Starh

In these troubling times, when our global leaders are failing to grapple with the immense threats to our climate, our environment, and our well-being, how do we find our personal power and confidence to step up into new realms and play on a larger stage? We can draw nourishment from nature and community. In this workshop, we’ll use ritual, meditation, guided journeys, dance and song to connect with the deep wellsprings of inspiration that the earth offers us. We will explore the internal and social barriers that keep us from stepping into our full power. And we’ll work with tools and insights that can help us become more effective co-creators of the new world we must bring to birth. This retreat will provide the opportunity to re-root your spirit, politics, and day-to-day life in a deeper relationship with the Earth. Starhawk tailors her workshop to her audience as much as she can and some of the work she does is dependent on who is present and what the questions are that come up in the work. About Starhawk (www.starhawk.org): Starhawk is an author, activist, permaculture designer and teacher, and one of the most respected voices in modern Goddess religion and earth-based spirituality. She is the author or coauthor of twelve books, including the classics The Spiral Dance and The Fifth Sacred Thing. Seminarplace (www.schloss-tempelhof.de): The community Schloss Tempelhof was founded in 2010 and currently consists of 120 people.
