What we do

BE A STEWARD AND PROTECTOR OF THE LAND. Our Eco-village is situated on 21Ha of grasslands & forests bordered by a river & stream. When we bought the land, it was in its natural state. We observed the land for a number of years before intervening. Now we have a bunkhouse that sleeps 10 people, electricity, well water, outdoor kitchen, multi-use room, storage shed, nursery, raised veggie beds, food forest with fruiting trees, ponds, swales, a variety of crops and more. The founder also built a home and moved here full-time in 2023.
Our Permaculture based eco-village envisions:
*Eco-enterprise incubator, shared workspace for community members & volunteers
*Artisan & craftspeople’s incubator, shared workspace, & storefront for community members and local residents
*Promoting and strengthening the local economy of our neighborhood and the town through example
*Training/workshops in eco-economics, the circular economy, ‘buy local’, and local economic development
*Community gardens and local produce and artisan markets
*Permaculture courses and other practical, hands-on learning experiences such as eco-building
We’re looking for people who realize that creating more EcoVillages and other transition communities is an urgent & vital necessity, and who feel a genuine calling to apply their talents, knowledge, passion, creativity & resources toward helping to create those communities, people who see this as a labor of love for future generations. If you are a creative, values-driven, innovative and “roll-up-your-sleeves and get down to work” type of person you will probably have a great time here, as there is so much to do – creating community, designing the statutes and the master design for the EcoVillage, designing and implementing the electric and water systems, building houses and other structures, planting food forests and introducing and tending animals — basically, being pioneers!
We’re interested in hearing from people who are excited about this.
