In 1998 10 friends bought 20ha of a private land very degraded by mining, located threatened Araucaria and Atlantic Forest. I was one of them. Together we work on a proposal for a State Park in an area next to us, connecting our area to the largest block of protected areas in this Ecosystem. The Serra da Baitaca State Park was created in 2002.
We look for students interested in developing their thesis at our reserve or adjacent areas on ecological studies including mammals, reptiles, birds, trees, fungus and lichens. In particular, we look for students interested to study wild cats.
