What we do

Founded in 1993 on the ethics of care for the nature that surrounds it, Kuthumba encompasses a vision of a healthy lifestyle and the opportunity for people to co-create an environment that allows each individual to harbour a sense of peace and growth. Homes at Kuthumba are built using green principles, and the community hopes to serve as a model for how others can contribute to the protection of the environment and foster environmental wisdom.
More recently an influx of community-minded members has seen an increasing cohesion among the people on the land, looking at ways to live together in a more connected manner. Those living permanently at Kuthumba have a diverse range of passions, which include spiritual exploration and personal growth, permaculture, self-directed education, ‘alternative’ health and a form of eco-tourism that is educational.
Since 2020, more than half a dozen families have moved to Kuthumba, bringing a new focus on raising the next generation in a regenerative manner. A forest circle has been initiated as well as a playgroup for the younger children, known as The Nest. In 2022, an initiative to create a self-directed learning centre that connects us to the broader community in the area was started.
Kuthumba is located in a rural area just beyond the town of Plettenberg Bay, South Africa, and is surrounded by indigenous forest. The ecovillage is uniquely positioned with direct access to the Tsitsikamma National Park, which offers one of the area’s most stunning walking routes.

Sacred Place Self Empowerment Course Retreat

Sacred Place is delivering its five day and ten day Self-Empowerment course at Earth Home, Chiang Mai, Thailand this November 7-16. The ten day Self Empowerment Course is the combination of the 5 day de-programming course and 5 day life purpose course. It is for those individuals that are ready to discover their True Self and implement their Life Purpose. If you want to transform your life or/and your career this ten day course facilitates the journey to create the life you actually want. It is vital to first remove the negative thoughts and behavioral patterns in order to start to rebuilding a strong inner foundation based on healthy levels of self-esteem and self-confidence. Once this de-programming and healing has taken place, you can then begin to uncover your Life Purpose. We advise individuals to attend the ten day Self Empowerment course due to the transformational impact of ten days. If that is not possible, we strongly suggest to first take the five day De-Programming course. Our courses are based upon 40 combined years working in the corporate sector and our own healing and empowerment journeys that began in 2006. We have created an all encompassing framework that employs the best most effective healing and empowerment modalities known to us to create deep transformation within a short period of time. We provide the tools and knowledge to guide you to uncover and deliver your Life Purpose now. The first five days course (Nov 7-11) is focused upon De-Programming/Healing. The second 5 day course (Nov 12-16) is focused upon Life Purpose course. The ten day Self Empowerment course is the combination of the two five day courses.
