What we do

Off-grid Farm in Rural Alentejo
A community in development based on 115 hectares of rolling pasture hills, animals, Eucalyptus, mixed forest with cork and stone oaks, medronho, ponds, lakes and a river
Pioneering Stage
we aim toward practising a sustainable way of life, living in tune with nature and sharing a community lifestyle with like-minded people who want to become part of the project long-term.
About Us
We are a small family, living and working on the land for 2 years now.
There are two more long term team members living on-site and between us, we have 3 children.
There are 8 horses, two dogs, 4 ducks and 7 chickens.
Depending on the season, we usually host between 5 and 15 volunteers who help us turn this place into the amazing land it can be.
The Land
When this land was bought, It consisted of mainly eucalyptus monoculture, overgrown or eroded areas, overgrazed pastures and a few ruins.
Much has happened already in the last couple of years!
So far accomplished
-Out of the 10 ruins 2 have been restored and another two are near completion
-2 living cabins with beds, heating and solar energy
-1 mobile house with two bedrooms
-1 co-working space has been started
-3 sets of boreholes, water tanks, solar-powered pumps and irrigation
-2 sets of solar power systems for electricity
-a water retention system that includes dirt roads, trenches, 3 lakes and 6 ponds
-some of the land has been cleared and many of the native trees such as cork oak, stone oak and the strawberry tree are now thriving

Social Media Intern for GEN International Hours: Up to 20/month, flexible around your schedule and availability Location: Remote, work with Eva Goldfarb Focus: Instagram + LinkedIn (TikTok if you’re into it!) Hi! I’m Eva, and I run social media for GEN International — the global network connecting ecovillages, intentional communities, and regenerative culture-builders across every continent. I’m looking for a co-conspirator to help me tell the stories of the people quietly building the future: off-grid villages in the Philippines, permaculture farms in Senegal, urban cohousing projects in Berlin, elders passing down land wisdom in the Andes. It’s a wildly rich, wildly underrepresented world, and I want more people to fall in love with it the way I have. What you’ll actually do: Dream up and create content for Instagram and LinkedIn (reels, carousels, stories, captions that don’t sound like a corporate newsletter) Dig into our global network and turn your findings into stories people want to share Pitch your own ideas. If there’s a series, a theme, a format, or a corner of the network that lights you up, that’s what I want you to focus on. What we’re looking for: A natural storyteller, someone who can spot the human thread in a project update or a photo from a faraway village Genuinely curious about ecovillages, sustainability, intentional community, regenerative living Self-motivated and communicative; this is a flexible, trust-based role Why this role: This isn’t a “post 3x a week and don’t ask questions” internship. You’ll have real creative freedom to work on what excites you, learn how a global grassroots network tells its story, and build a portfolio full of meaningful, purpose-driven content. Plus you’ll be talking to people living some of the most interesting, intentional lives on the planet. If storytelling for a better world sounds like your kind of fun, let’s talk.

Natural Building Workshop

Come study the art and practice of natural finishes. Learn how to utilize breathable, low impact, non-toxic materials to make protective, beautiful and durable finishes. In this in-depth hands-on workshop you will be applying earthen plaster to the interior and exterior of a Tiny Home, the Cedar Nest, at Wilson Creek Gardens. The Project The Cedar Nest is an on going project that started in 2013 utilizing 95% repurposed materials from a 1920’s home and from the land at WCG. The structure is designed to demonstrate simple construction techniques in a small footprint, 11’x16’. It was in-filled with a straw clay slip last year and now is ready for the walls to receive the final plaster layer. We will be utilizing mostly on-site materials. What You Will Learn: • Sourcing and processing materials for making your own healthy, low cost finishes! • Proper methods for natural ingredients when preparing and applying clay based plaster. • Practice making and applying other types of finishes which can be applied to other surfaces such as; cement, bricks, drywall and latex paint. • The many advantages of constructing a tiny home with ecologically friendly building techniques. Who will benefit from this workshop? Builders, homesteaders, homeowners, interior decorators and artists enjoy being able to make and apply these healthy finishes successfully to both interior and exterior walls. Class cost: Three-day: $320.00 Includes: meals and camping: $20.00 Early bird discount (if register by 6/24) Daily rate: $ 110.00 Includes lunch. Location: Wilson Creek Gardens (http://cascadiapermaculture.com) Class will be held on the site of a 7-acre homestead and permaculture demonstration site located outside Cottage Grove, Oregon Registration: Contact je************@***il.com Instructor Eva Edleson is a talented natural builder, cook, gardener, and craftswoman.
