I am an environmentalist from Brazil and a former professor of agroecology and human ecology at Federal University of Minas Gerais. I currently live at Fazenda Caco de Cuia, a 175 ha farm, of which 120 ha is atlantic forest. We are located at 65 kilometers from the state capital, Belo Horizonte. At the farm, we cultivate a diverse landscape that includes a mixed fruit orchard, pastures, corn fields, alongside a traditional stone mill. We also host visitors through a small-scale rural hotel, with ten bedrooms in a large farmhouse, and a spacious parlor that has been transformed into a restaurant and meeting space—creating a place where sustainability, agriculture, and hospitality come together.
