Learning to Live and Grow up in an Ecovillage 5

About the event

The eco-village Los Portales still has a free place for its project “Learning to Live and Grow up in an Ecovillage 5”, 9 months long, to start before December 2018.
For more information, please write to Neus at ev*********@*********es.net

The project “Learning to Live and Grow up in an Ecovillage 5” is designed for volunteers interested in discovering and experiencing this way of life. During 9 months they will immerse themselves in the ecovillage life and its different activities, accompanied by very experienced people.
The project objective is to propose to the participants the acquisition of a series of tools through the following activities:
managing an orchard to produce food for 30 people;
cooking for collectives: learn how to compose and prepare balanced menus for groups;
managing a 30 goat herd for milk production and dairy product processing (cheese, yogurt);
making artisan organic bread, learning the process from beginning to end;
first contact with the three ecovillage renewable energy types: solar, wind and hydro power;
managing personal and group processes: facilitation and conflict resolution tools and creativity development tools.
All activities will be carried out on the ground because we are aware that the learning integration is thus faster and lasting. The person in charge of each activity will give the training and explain the tasks to the volunteers, putting special emphasis on the safety measures to prevent any accident. The coordinator will help the volunteers define their interests and personal learning and development program through the activities and will hold weekly meetings with them, in order to ensure that the established program aims are met. He will also be available to resolve any matter relating to the activities scheduling.
The saying “Be the change you want to see in the world” sums up quite well what our association wants to bring to our society and, especially, to its youth.

The Art of Embracing The Shadow

Ready to connect with the hidden aspects of yourself? The “shadow” are all the hidden or unconscious aspects of oneself, both positive and negative, that the ego has repressed or never acknowledged. In other words, the shadow is all we push out of our conscious awareness, all we disown in ourselves, all that is unwanted, ugly, unloved or simply uncomfortable or unbearable to look at so that we exclude it from what we show to the world. But what we exclude and disown becomes larger than life and scares us. This workshop will give you a solid and integrated approach towards achieving a deep healing, transformation and permanent change, as well as some practical tools for a healthy, rich, rewarding and more complete emotional life. The final goal is to make space or, in other words, to open our hearts to be able to include all those parts or situations that belong to each of us and our system. The goal is not to solve anything, but to allow some conscious movements or processes that make us more aware of the aspects that we have rejected and which, consciously or unconsciously, we are in conflict with. Key benefits of shadow work: The shadow isn’t a popular topic. Exploring the shadow, however, gives us tremendous opportunities for growth and development. These are some of the benefits that result from shadow work: – Improving personal and interpersonal relationships Seeing others and yourself more clearly Improving physical and mental health Psychological integration and maturity Achieving greater creativity Dates: November 30th, December 1st and 2nd Schedule: Friday 30th: From 10am to 8pm (with lunch break) Saturday 1st: From 10am to 8pm (with lunch break) Sunday 2nd: From 10am to 2pm The facilitator Irene Goikolea has been working for more than

Nature Connected Community Design

During this week we will explore what it means to create and to be community. We will use permaculture principles, permaculture design and practices from indigenous cultures worldwide as our main toolbox. At the same time we will be experiencing community life first-hand in the new eco-community of Haslachhof, which will be our venue, our village and our social landscape to design for and with. We will also be sharing practices of cultural repair as they have been gathered over time by earth-based people worldwide and spread by the 8 shields community. On top of this connecting with self and others we will also connect to the land and its creatures – we are blessed to have forests and a creek nearby. We will practice nature connected community design by working on design exercises relating to the Haslachhof community. This course is for everyone interested in community design and suits people who have already done a full 72 hours permaculture design course and want to deepen their social permaculture skills as well as for people without any previous permaculture or nature connection experience who want to learn about community design and deep nature connection. Come and… Live a week in an evolving community! Learn about community building! Practice permaculture principles and social permaculture design! Explore techniques for cultural repair! Deepen your nature connection! Course facilitators Lien de Coster Lien is an inner tracker who guides people on their path towards nature and soul connection.
