I am building the community that is close to nature and resembles a communal country-house. The culture of “summer country houses” is well developed in our country, but my view of this particular project is specific.
First of all I am going to run the community. I hope to find some good people – both families and individuals that will share the land, the buildings and some stuff on the place together. I expect these people to be free from such evils like smoking, alcoholism and drugs, and they will treat our environment with care and respect each other. I’d like to this community to develop into a shape of some cohousing ecovilage. I don’t insist if ones will permanently reside here; some may just come for a while (I am not going to live here), but one of the core rules lies in that the members should come and live here more than just for weekends and holidays. This is the strict rule; it practically restricts members from those leading “a common life”, that is regular working in the city 5 days per week. I don’t provide a pretty place for the rest between the work and “the necessary hard life”; the purpose is to reshape and to bring up life here on the place – both with work and holidays.
The membership is free for any charge; there is also the possibility to come as guest-volunteer (again, not for a weekends!).
At the moment there is a house and the land that I have bought. The place is 230 km to the east from Moscow in the low-populated wilderness area. It is the tiny village in the forest (most trees are pines). My place is very clean and nice. The closest inhabited village (with shops and a post-office) is 5 km through the forest. The house is old but quite appropriate for living all round-the-year. Right now I am living here alone, but ready to accept guests. There are possibilities to bye another house or lands legally of informal here; however I don’t see the necessity of any more expenses. There is no electricity here; I use the solar power to charge my phones and my notebook.
Advanced information about my project in Russian is published in the LJ-community common_house.livejournal.com
